Parody Song Title:

"Aspie Girl"

Parody Written by:

Thalia's Dog

The Lyrics

Barbie:
I'm an Aspie Girl,
in an Aspie world.
Life autistic:
It's neurotic.
I don't brush my hair.
I'm sloppy everywhere.
Imagination:
That would be forbidden.

Ken: Come on Aspie, let's not party.

Barbie:
I'm an Aspie Girl,
in an Aspie world.
Life autistic:
It's neurotic.
I don't brush my hair.
I'm sloppy everywhere.
Imagination:
That would be forbidden.

Barbie:
Asperger, quite a guy,
knows I can't socialize.
There are books I must read:
Much to study.

Ken:
You’re my nerd, every word,
you take literally.
So obsessed with with abstracts,
there's no meaning.

Barbie:
You can't touch.
You can't play.
You can't stay:
There is the door.

Barbie:
I'm an Aspie Girl,
in an Aspie world.
Life autistic:
It's neurotic.
I don't brush my hair.
I'm sloppy everywhere.
Imagination:
That would be forbidden.

Ken: Come on Aspie, let's not party.
Barbie: Let x = x.
Ken: Come on Aspie, let's not party.
Barbie: E equals M C squared.
Ken: Come on Aspie, let's not party.
Barbie: Let x = x.
Ken: Come on Aspie, let's not party.
Barbie: E equals M C squared.

Barbie:
Funny walk. Funny talk.
'Cause my mind is busy.
Hard to act like I care
when I lack empathy.

Ken:
Schedules to follow through.
Let us do it again.
Have no clue what to do
at a party.

Barbie:
You can't touch.
You can't play.
You can't stay:
There is the door.
You can't touch.
You can't play.
You can't stay:
There is the door.

Ken: Come on Aspie, let's not party.
Barbie: Let x = x.
Ken: Come on Aspie, let's not party.

i read your parody and as someone who has this disorder, i find it offensive. it seems as if you're poking fun at the disorder (and you probably had no intention of doing so). i'm sorry... i don't find ANY humor in your parody. 1s all around.

While the song did match the song perfectly, I found the parody quite rude! I may not have the disorder... but my cousin does! She and I would both have to agree with Mick! We'd both think that this is a rude parody.

I hate it when people say AS people lack empathy. AS people are just unable to express empathy - but they certainly do feel it!

As a person suffering from Asperger's syndrome, I apologize to those whom I've offended by depicting my own self-struggle. For Anthony's sake, I wanted to comment on "empathy". Aspies are usually sympathic, but we have trouble expressing and interpreting non-literal information (body language, tone of voice...). The technical definition of emapthy includes being aware of other's emotions, but, at least in my case, I have to "look through a glass darkly." (The issue of empathy in Asperger's is frequently discussed. I would recommend reviewing articles authored by Baron-Cohen.) Thanks for your comments, good and bad. Please help continue the discussion and increase awareness!

I am an Aspie girl and I thought the parody was great :) and I think those who got offended by it need to lighten up a bit, because it was all done in good humor and was not meant to be offensive. Good work, Thalia's Dog :).

Thalia, how could your dog have written such a funny song? Granted, it is disrespectful and even demeaning to a growing sector of the population (I don't mean to offend or otherwise cause problems by saying that), but it is very funny. FYI, if I ever have a daughter, her name will be Thalia because it is such a beautiful name. 555

I think it's amusing. I don't think it's the most hilarious thing in the world, but I do not feel that it is offensive whatsoever. I too have Aspergers and I think it's quite funny. C'mon, guys, lighten up. Have a sense of humour for god's sake.

I have AS I can relate. I would modify the lyrics a bit to be more accurate.

I have Aspergers and find this offensive. Please take it off.

Hilarious, and it fits the music really well. I'm an aspie girl too and I think it's good to make light of our situation.
