The Lyrics

From The Album "The Self Titled Debut Album"
I wrote a song, a parody
Is exactly what this song is
And maybe if, the next one flies
I could buy a happy-meal
And I think my 15 are up
So I think I'll go and say good-bye
But can I have my severance check

The Billboards, they all say
I'm in the number ones but
I'm falling, and dropping
I may have had a song that peaked
But I'm the flavor of the week

The day has come, for me to leave
I knew it'd come here soon
But do you think, I might come back
In a two hit wonder streak
You know I don't think that I will
I don't got nothing fresh or new
And even I am sick of me

The Billboards, they all say
I'm in the number ones but
I'm falling, and dropping
I may have had a song that peaked
But I'm the flavor of the week

The Billboards, they all say
I'm in the number ones but

I'm falling
I'm falling
I'm falling
I'm falling

The Billboards, they all say
I'm in the number ones but
I'm falling, and dropping
I may have had a song that peaked
But I'm the flavor of the week
Yeah I'm the flavor of the week

(ABC) Good parody - I especially liked the ending. And what a great song - I am glad I dl'd it!

I DKTOS so I looked up the original lyrics to compare. Some lines seemed completely different, but I'm guessing that's the fault of the dumb lyrics site. So basically I'm useless to you here. Sorry, MMG. But I do find the line "Even I am sick of me" quite lovely.

(ABC) DKTOS, but it's got a clear syllabic structure that suggests good pacing.

(ABC) DKTOS here too, but good parody.

I guess the original must be as repetetive as this, too ;-) Like the others, I DKTOS, but I'd agree with JD; I like the theme, too...

another DKTOS I'm afraid ... but this is was really clever and well done 5s

Good job with this. You dropped a syllable somewhere in the refrain around the "Number ones but, I'm falling" area, but that's the only pacing mistake I could find. 5-4-5 froms me

Echoing the other comments, "DKTOS, but good job"
