For those of you too young to remember it, this song was in reference to an incident in October 1985 when the Italian cruise ship ACHILLE LAURO was hijacked by Palestinian Liberation Organization operatives off the coast of Egypt while on a Mediterranean cruise. American passengers were separated from the others and, over the course of the hijacking, the terrorists shot and killed an elderly wheelchair-bound American and threw his corpse overboard. Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak agreed to give the terrorists safe passage to their headquarters in Tunisia in exchange for the release of the cruise ship and passengers. US intelligence learned of the specifics of the arrangement and the Egyptian airliner was intercepted by US Navy F-14 Tomcats and diverted to Sicily.

I remember Leon Klinghoffer who was killed and tossed over the side. A movie was made about this called "Voyage of Terror" in 1990. 555!
