The Lyrics

a many a filmmaker makes their nut producing crap B-movie fair. It's just what they do, no matter how maligned it makes them. They take pride in their shoddy work. This is their song. They hope you "enjoy" their cheap Star Wars knock off.
Verse 1: We’ve got a small budget
So we use what’s on hand
Our puppets are just yarn and glue
Not made by Jim Henson
The cheaper the better
Shot most in my basement
Directly stealing from Star Wars
But ours will not make sense

Chorus: Lights, lights, lights, camera!
Lights, lights, lights, camera!
Lights, lights, lights, camera!
Lights, lights, lights, camera!

Verse 2: “What the hell is this about?”
“Does it have a twist?”
Would Stanley Kubrick explain his film?
Not even if you insist
White guys and green guys
And most a bit racist
Interviews and repeat views
You still don’t get the gist

Chorus: Lights, lights, lights, camera!
Lights, lights, lights, camera!
Lights, lights, lights, camera!
Lights, lights, lights, camera!

Verse 3: We say we’ll be better
But we know which is our lane
Well the buzz is circling down the tubes
Reviews are ‘round the drain
The cheaper the better
Soundtrack is theremin
Fluctuate the tune a smidge
Make again and again and again and again…

Chorus: Lights, lights, lights, camera! (Let’s make another!)
Lights, lights, lights, camera! (In other genres)
Lights, lights, lights, camera! (You’re gonna hate them!)
Lights, lights, lights, camera!
Oh…

Chorus: Lights, lights, lights, camera!
Lights, lights, lights, camera!
Lights, lights, lights, camera!
Lights, lights, lights, camera!
Oh they blow…

Chorus: Lights, lights, lights, camera!
Lights, lights, lights, camera!
Lights, lights, lights, camera!
Lights, lights, lights, camera…

I picture the guys from American Movie...or those kids who recreated Raiders Of The Lost Ark in their back yard. Nice job (and the deep '80s cut was a treat to remember again)!

Loved the inclusion of Theremin in this tune! Also being a lover of cheesy B movies and being a film school major I freaked loved this little gem in general

I remember the Turkish Star Wars.

(Artistry) I'm not a watcher of hilariously terrible films, but I am an avid watcher of silly internet review shows, so I was not lost at all here. Great stuff here, my bet says the budget was $555!
