Parody Song Title:

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Note: In the film "Skyscraper", Anna Nicole Smith plays a helicopter pilot. In one scene, she's supposed to say into the radio, "Van Nuys Tower, we are now entering your airspace." (Or something to that effect.) Her celebrated misreading of the line was: "Very Nice Tower, we are now entering your hairspace."

Molly Shannon later referenced the line on SNL when her "Anna Nicole" character screamed, "Get outta my hairspace!"

This parody isn't a putdown, by the way--I liked her.

Strange how the sky's filled
With funny papers
In my skyscraper
And my head feels just like Jello, Jello

Hef's place is crawling
With naked people
Who juggle pink pills
They seem to all fly in my mouth

In my hairspace
People never leave my hairspace
Wish they could conceive my hairspace
And life's a magazine in my hair...space

Electric cables
Line my new bedroom
I need some headroom
This place is just like Mayo, Mayo

Knee-deep in money
Play with my nylons
I'll stop his heartbeat
This spindly prune I'm married to

In my hairspace
People can't believe my hairspace
Leaking like a sieve, my hairspace
I'm like a submarine in my hairspace

Lookin' like a floozy, hairspace
Feelin' kinda woozy, hairspace
Whoa oh

A sold centerfold
Was a girl named Vickie Lynn, with
A zaftig body
All bust, kinda short on brains
She stripped, she modeled
Became a mother, then
A cable oddity, oh cable oddity
Cable...oddity

Here in my love nest
Now that it's over
I feel much older
My life seems like an early warning

Just one more pink pill
Just one more hour
Very Nice Tower
Is where I'm sleeping
Let me stay

In my hairspace
People never leave my hairspace
No one can believe my hairspace
It's getting hard to breathe in my hairspace

I'm giving and receiving hairspace
I'm grieving and bereaving, hairspace
I'm starting to recede in my hairspace

Vickie Lynn is in her hairspace
Skipping class again, in hairspace
A zero for attendance, in hairspace

I'm feelin' Metaluna, hairspace
I'm in Wasabi Tuna, hairspace
I'm tryin' to be cool in my hairspace

People think they know me, hairspace
Letterman can blow me, hairspace
Whoa oh

In my hairspace
People never leave my hairspace
Wish they could conceive my hairspace
It's always Halloween in my hair...space

thanks phil btw, it appears that I didn't close the italics tags in my intro

(SOTM) DKTOS or movie so I didn't expect much, and wow was I wrong. I liked the Letterman line, as a loyal Dave viewer myself. It is sad though that Anna Nicole died so young, as did her son, and her husband died so old, ironically. 555

Never seen the movie and I don't know the OS, but this was still pretty good, nice job.

Thanks! It's okay if you didn't see the movie, I only got the words "hairspace" and "Very Nice Tower" from that. The rest is sorta biographical.

Not too familiar with this song, but very familiar with "hairspace", I have to have about 6 to 8 inches around my head, back and arse to prevent brushing someone or something with my hair and possibly getting it tangled in something...

I have the same problem, only mine's called "fatspace."

inventive and fun, Porf. Was Metaluna a reference to that old movie with the aliens with big fore-heads? Well done.

Thanks!! You got it, that was the old sci-fi flick "This Island Earth."
Matthias - January 24, 2012 - Report this comment
I'm not sure why the entire page is in italics but that doesn't really matter this was a pretty good sci-fi spoof

Heh, I think I had an HTML mishap. It's sort of a nice effect, though.

(SOTM) What a unique idea, I thought it was really creative and funny too.
Porfle Popnecker - January 30, 2012 - Report this comment
Thanks, that's very encouraging!

(SOTM) Well, I'm thoroughly confused. Was there meant to be some semblance of a point here? Cuz if there was, it went completely over my head. Pacing was tight, though.

Well, that's the pitfall of doing a biographical parody--it's only effective if the reader is familiar with the subject .
Jeff Reuben - January 31, 2012 - Report this comment
Somehow the italics added to the surrealness of the parody in my opinion (that and I'm not too familiar with the subject). I enjoyed it, never knew what was coming next, which made it intriguing
