Parody Song Title:

"Herbie goes to prison"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Punk-ass German auto-maker Volkswagen are in PR trouble from being caught red-handed programming emissions to be lower when measured but not on the road. Not smart! To make things worse the Greens of northern Europe are joyfully soiling themselves to capitalize on this as another home front industry might go out of business and hundreds of thousands of jobs be lost. Will there ever be another happy Herbie movie?

A YouTube version of the original song can currently be found here.
Fritz now to meet the police and
Come down with abash, their
Beetle bull is bound at tethers
Rear end stinking from the crash to
Stall, stall the law
Are they gonna do themselves in, well
They're now in remission
Folks with stock need a house physician

Herbie goes to prison as a Volkswagen detainee
As I drive my S.U.V. I self-exhaust an O.M.G!
Thinking all the cars around have done the same pol-bribery
Flipping the greases

His true emission's very brown
The wheels are coming off downtown
Ooh yeah, yeah, the coppers have him clampered down
And at Nürburgring the bankers frown

Should I trust their GPS?
Have airbags reassessed?
Paid to feel good more or less
Greenhouse friendly's pure BS

Now V.W needs a new campaign
Their clout turned acid rain
But they didn't get their way
Herbie's towed and locked away

Herbie goes to Sing-Sing for a Volkswagen third degree
As I drive my S.U.V. with its unfiltered bugged IT
Spanked by all the cars around with its now crude oil guarantee
Falling to pieces

His true emission's very brown
The wheels are coming off downtown
Ooh yeah, yeah, the Greens can all but piper down
And at Nürburgring he lost his crown

If there's ka-ching to make for slicks
It sure summons lies and breaking wind politics
I think this crime is mostly gas
Enjoy the bend-over for while it lasts

Ooh yeah, yeah, his true emission's very brown
Ol' Herbie he was once renowned
Ooh yeah, yeah, his true emission's very brown
His fame and fortune's been run down
Ooh yeah, yeah, his true emission's very brown
What goes out tends to come around

Nice parody concept except that Herbie, a 1963 Model 117 DSS with Porsche Super 90 engine never carried the faulty software for the latter EA 189 engine!!! It carried no emissions software at all! In real life, VW has suffered £30 million already. Bosch GmbH knew in 2007! It's more complicated than simple fraud. I need to do my version, "Who Cries in Wolsburg?" or "EA 189!"

I am of course using "Herbie" here for an in-mind car visual (and the title sub) in much the same way I'd possibly use "Angry Birds" if there was a Finnish IT-scandal involving Tweets.

The Germans also came up with the Schlorwagen by 1938. Talk about aerodynamic! Drag coefficient of 0.11!!!: http://images.thetruthaboutcars.com/2010/02/Schlr-SideProfile.jpg
