YouTube Most people don't know this, but Sting actually wrote the classic Police song "Roxanne" about me. I wasn't a prostitute, but I wore a chicken suit and hopped around in the street in front of a fried chicken place. I was desperately unhappy, so Sting told me he could get me a job shoveling cow and horse manure on his uncle's farm. He then got the inspiration to write a song about it, but the original lyrics went something like "You don't have to wear that suit tonight" and "hop the streets for money, they don't care if it's dark or if it's white." And instead of a plaintive cry of "Roxanne!" the chorus was Sting making a chicken sound ("BWAAAAK!") followed by the name "Stan" (not my real name). So it went something like: "BWAAAAK! Stan!" I was hurt when he changed the lyrics, but Sting made up for it by persuading his uncle to buy me a brand new shovel and also to give me most of Christmas Day off.
