Pacing would have been more clear if you'd stretched the word precious to something like "pah-recious." Really funny, 4/5/5. Personally, I don't like LOTR, but at least Gollum kept the thing from being a total snoozer (books and movies).
Yep, that's Gollum to a tea. BTW, when 2 Towers came out I went to the theater wearing elf ears. Not a costume, just the ears. Is that weird?
Despite my enough-already attitude toward the Tolkien canon (not that it's bad, just overplayed), this was very good. Cygna: You went to a LOTR film wearing elf ears, and you ask is that weird? Compared to WHAT??? Some people actually have plastic surgery to make their ears pointed because they love "Star Trek." If you'd walked into the room in the theater showing "ST: Nemesis" by mistake, anybody who noticed, let alone cared, would've thought them to be Vulcan (or Romulan) ears. We've all got our own little cult fantasies, but beware their dark sides, young padawan. (Tolkien didn't live long enough to see "Star Wars," just "Star Trek," though if he did see it, his thoughts on it are apparently lost in a transporter buffer.)
Thanks for the comments. Alex: Gollum definately drives that whole story and has the most character. Cygna: I agree the Michael about the ears. Weirdness is relative. If weird means being a little different and having some personality, thats a good thing.
. . . or if weird means wearing fake ears to resemble a fictional character then i guess that's ok too. clever song, however.
Despite my being sick of the Ring cycle, this one gets funnier every time I see it. Too bad I already voted, I think it was all 3s. I'd probably give it a 4-5-4 now.
