Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

I fear for Egypt. Their only alternative to a repressive dictator is an Islamic theocracy under Shia law. Message to President Obama - Don't preach in another country about politics and human rights unless there is even an outside chance that democracy can emerge. Does the name Jimmy Carter ring a bell? ;D

All the mass protest in the streets -
Press tells you that they all are good.
'Though the new regime (P.L.O.?)
Will be the famed Muslim Brotherhood.

We supported them through the years,
We made Mubarak one of us.
But now we will (Surely so!)
Abandon them underneath the bus.

U.N. guys want no compromising.
E-gypt is at peace with Is-rael!
Abandon Egyptians!

(Instrumental break)

Can't offend Islamic world,
They hate ev'rything American.
It's like before (time will show)
With Carter's dump of the Shah's Iran.

While in Tel Aviv they all know
The Near East will drop like dominos.
They will stand alone (there'll be woe!)
The U.S. won't care - that's how it goes.

Suck up to Ahmadinejad and
Chas-tize Is-rael, shaft our al-ly.
Just like the Egyptians.

(Instrumental break)

It's a no win for U. S.
We're walking a bunch of slick tightropes
And our government (Ho ho ho!))
Is yacking just like a bunch of dopes.

What a rotten choice that this is-
A tyrant or a brand new jihad.
O. doesn't know (See it show!)
But Newsweek still calls him God!

The Jordanians - who're at peace -
Are sweating with their King Ab-dul-lah
And the Lebanese (No no no!)
Are now run by the mad Hez-bol-lah.

All we hear from the White House is just
"Win The Fu-ture, Sput-nik Mo-ment"
Lord help the Egyptians!
Lord help the Egyptians!

You captured exactly the commotion what is going on in Egypt - and which is about to spread in other Arab countries. The situaton is "damned if you do - damned if you don't" - either a corrupt kleptocracy, oppressive military dictatorship or a theocracy. All 555 choices are bad.

Timely, and a great title sub. Well done.

Best parody of the day! (Which today also makes it the worst parody of the day) lol. Just kidding this was great. Very timely and very spot on.

Great topical--not to mention voluble n' insoluble--parody OMR! Now, I just gotta know---whaddaya have to pay Chucky for a Personal Showcase Day like this?! ;)
SamuraiMaster - February 02, 2011 - Report this comment
And OMR writes up the only parody of the day! That has to be a record for this site.

Many thanks indeed! :)

A no win situation, but this parody is a winner.

DKTOS, so can't judge the pacing... are you tearing out what hair is left yet? (the outro was directed at moi, methinks, and with good reason! ;-D)

How fitting for a band director finally to get a solo! :-D

TT to the rescue of the dearth of songs; Two - count 'em, two -- in for Thursday, Feb 3. Chucky time. (Does TT get the whole page to himself? Hey if OMR does, should we *each* get a "showcase" day? Just askin'.... ;)

Oh, yeah, the parody -- About the Lord helping the Egyptians, the record isn't good -- check the Book of Exodus, LOL! ;) ... kidding ... maybe the US should, uh, *just stay out of it*, for once?

Great job, and will *trust* everyone except the ubiquitous ubomber (get a life, dude!) on pacing. 555, truly. :-D

Again Thanks! No Tommy, no shot intended. Shooting turtles is out of season. ;D

Of course I love the OS and you made a great parody detailing a very sticky situation. I agree with Susanna Vilanen - right now Egypt seems to been a rock, a hard place and more rocks. It's "damned if you do - damned if you don't" , just like the recent surge into Afghanistan. Obama looked at all the options the military generals gave him concerning Afghanistan and he reported said that "all the options here suck". Lord help Obama with dealing with all the crap going on all over the planet, Lord help the Egyptians, the Americans and all His children. I give you a bag of 5s and an award medal for Great Song Parody Writer. You ROCK!

Another top notch product. But I have to ask. Since it is Groundhog's Day, did your ditty see it's shadow and will we get 6 more weeks of OMR parodies? :)

Susanna nailed it. ANY theocracy is evil. Let's hope Egypt don't get one. If I weren't on vacation, I'd try "Go Now (Hosni)" for the Moody Blues' "Go Now."

Chucky shoulf make you "Secreatary Of The Parody State"!! Wonderful (and all so true) words, Ribber. And...kudos for NOT leaving the site with 0 entries yesterday...

President Obama has said that Mubarak must go now, and not wait until scheduled elections, according to the Egyptian constitution are held in September. I don't think it would be too hard to round up a half-million Americans to turn out in the streets demanding that Obama resign immediately. How would our President react to that sort of constitutional by-pass in this country?

Tough song to work with, but tough to pass up under the circumstances. Great job.

Very perfect OS to use for this topic! Riot-eously hilarious and written! Sorry to have missed your one-man show yesterday! Wondered where everybody is that day. Supporting with 555 hieroglyphics with this one!!

GREAT PARODY of a great song by a great band! However, Egypt is not the U.S.A. OK let's take a look around. Mubarak took over governing Egypt by legal means. He succeeded Anwar Sadat after the latter was assassinated by the Muslim Brotherhood in the fall of 1981. Needless to say, Mubarak has been in the palace for much too long. His time is up. On the other hand, Obama was elected - not selected - and hasn't committed an impeachable criminal offense as of yet. At least he is tackling the major problems we have today, whether he's got the right solutions or not I don't know. However, look at all the CRAP and corruption and brainwashing from the past decade or two. Mr.Slick + Mr. Sick. Were there a half-million Americans in the streets demanding resignations? NO! Faux News, CNN, and AM mayhem blubberbutt guru types and other cultish clownish swindlers took over. Rise up, gather round, say baaaaa-aaahhh.
