The Lyrics

This is the Arab version of the song thirty years after the original release. The original song can be found here
Well, my hubby and me went out late Saturday night
We had some stones piled high and we were looking for fight
Well, we got in flash mob, heard the cell phone call
An SMS called for a mob at town hall
And that's all right 'cause we'd know it'd be a sight

Well, we found a little riot and we knew we're on battlefield
The cops came out and we heard the rocks hit their shields
I dug a Molotov cocktail and lit the fuse, right
I threw it on a bus and the flames climbed high
And then we thought: "let's get out of here, it's time to yield"

We're gonna wreck this town, wreck it inside out
We're gonna wreck this town, make 'em scream and shout
Let's rock, rock, rock, man, rock
We're gonna throw'em the rocks we're gonna wreck town blocks
We're gonna wreck this town, wreck this place apart

Well, we're having a riot and we want our President go
He's a tyrant first class and corrupt to the boot, you know -
We want power to the people and democracy now
We know what we want, we will get it somehow
And if we don't get it, we're gonna let our boulders roll!

Susanna - You had me hooked from the title alone! I'm sure you won't protest the fives which you've earned here...lol. ;D

*smile* This is an integral song on my childhood, and I found it funny so far very few people had dealt with the riots and democracy demonstrations in the Arab countries. "Rock" and "wreck" sound close enough to employ that as the subject of a parody.

For a moment there, I thought this was about Glasgow Rangers fans coming for a little Europa League action against HJK Helsinki. The Glaswegians are not among the nicer groups of fans.

Michael - Do you think American sports will ever develop their own hooligans? ;D

Michael, oh no! Finnish soccer fans are usually a nice lot. The ice hockey fans are far worse. But I agree with the English fans - they usually aren't the nicest lot around.
