The Lyrics

This song really should be about people with disabilities, rather than kids being hurt by their parents so here it is. It basically says Dear Mr Jesus, I wish everybody knew the "Person First, Disability Second" motto. There needs to be more songs devoted to people with disabilities, such as myself. I have muscular dystrophy, charge syndrome, and dyslexia.
Dear Mr. Jesus, I just had to write to you
I heard someone use the term "confined to a wheelchair and it hurt my feelings.
My friend is not a blind person, she's a person with a visual impairment.
Jesus, thought I'd take this right to you
Dear Mr. Jesus, I don't understand
Why they dont use "person first"
I am a girl that uses hearing aids, not the hearing impaired girl
I am a girl with Spina Bifida, not a cripple.
I am a Delagate of YLF for people with Disabilties
I am a strong advocate.
The Ability within me recognizes the ability within my friends.
I am not learning disabled, I have a learning disability.
Dear Mr. Jesus, let everybody understand
We are not to be labled by our disabilities, it's Abilities that matter
I have many abilities, thought I cannot speak
I can write, thought my vision is poor
The Ability within me recognizes the Ability within you
Dear Mr. Jesus, you know in your eyes, im perfect
I am able to use sign language, though I cannot hear
I love to have fun despite my disabilities
The Ability within me recognizes the ability within you

This is something that is true. The problem with society is that they stare and critizise. I believe our children deserve to be treated no different from the rest.
