The Lyrics

A parody of the "joy" of learning college-level math...Inspired by a great Canadian band and a song taken from their 1982 album, Signals. Hope you enjoy, eh!
Yawning on my bedsheets; I'm so busy!
Tri-go-no-me-tric homework
A complicated boredom
In between the finite
And the large units unknown

Adding stuff, we all seemed so excited
The answers were provided
The test paper, one-sided
Derived, and then divided.
Now's the mass confusion zone:
Nowhere is the learner or the idiot so alone!

(Long division)
In the study halls
Those library stalls
Learn math, or be cast out
(Long division)
With the science stars
Nerds who study hard:
Do well, but they're maxed out!
Any grade might help to prove the unavoidable truth
All these teachers have no hearts to choose the passing grade for you!!

Drawing graphs, we drift into a deep sleep
The endless, old subtraction
We pray for simple fractions
Still up, on a caffeine high
Just to study all the night

Some may throw their books into the fire
Or sell their notes from class
To lost and naïve brats
Who never dream of pulling hair
To live out their stressful plight
Somewhere there is a simple dream of no test sheets or "study time"

(Long division)
A kick in the balls!
Try, you still may fall!
Learn math, or be cast out
(Long division)
You may dream it's hard
Performance still sub-par
Do well, but be maxed out

Any grade might help to prove the unavoidable truth
All these teachers have no hearts to choose the passing grade for you!!

i thought this was amazing, this was the first rush song i heard, and for some reason it reminded me of my math class at school (yes, subdivisions!) and this just makes it seem more like that. very well done i just tried singing the new lyrics to the real version and it is AMAZING!!!!
