The Lyrics

A tongue-in-cheek homage to the "unofficial" parody-writing competition between our heroes, William Tong and Malcolm Higgins.
You act like we were just born tonight
Posting new songs from '96 every night
So Malcolm hasn't passed you so far today?
Will, you don't say nothing when you're posting this way

The other authors thinking, what is this mess?
Malcolm's trying to write the most songs, I guess
Although we know you're trying to just save face
It's the votes that count, there's no use trying to race

Tell me you're trying to take a seven-year break
See what else Amiright can take
The boys say, "Trying to keep up just don't compute"
The girls say, "Who the hell's this guy named Newt?"

Every day we browse the list of new entries
And half of them are you two's latest parodies
Soon, ol' Chucky's site for parodied songs
Is gonna turn into the best of Higgins and Tong

Yes, we're aware that it's not really your fault
That you have hundreds of songs stored somewhere in a vault
You two fellows are really birds of a feather
You've wrote more parodies than us all put together

Just tell 'us you're trying to take a seven-year break
See what else Amiright can take
The boys say, "Trying to keep up just don't compute"
The girls say, "Who the hell's this guy named Newt?"

Tell me you're trying to take a seven-year break
See what else Amiright can take
The boys say, "Trying to keep up just don't compute"
The girls say, "Who the hell's this guy named Newt?"

I checked the leader board; Malc's is very close now, Go Malc Go!
Bubba - September 27, 2003 - Report this comment
Wow, the lead is down to a mere 24 songs now...

This has been noted before but bears repeating:
Malcolm Higins has 13 votes on the board. He just missed the second 'G' in his name 13 times he submitted. Add that to the existing 881 and you come up with 894, which actually places him 11 songs behind the leader, but who's counting?

For a while it almost looked like Malcolm was slowing down, maybe even saving up for a "change of leadership" on November 4:th (what an irony that would have been), but now I guess we get to see it happen within the next couple of days.

I'm in the partying mood Malc, We'll have a big celebration when your over the top. Virtual confetti and all. No offense to Will Tong who is an excellent parody artist in his own right. The record is bound to be broken sooner or later. We know you've been burning that midnight oil Malcolm, just wanted you to know we're cheering you to the finish line.
