The Lyrics

Pushing Daisies is back on Saturday nights @ 10/9 CT on ABC until June 13, 2009 when the final episode airs. Season 2 will be released July 21st, 2009! Season 1 eps are now on TheWB.com. This song is about Emerson Cod, frequently referring to his fan-favorite line "Oh, hell no!" DKTOS?
(Lead guitar intro)

Pies from the Pie Hole
The odor of the crusted smell
Ned stops in silence
His private eye’s foes who have
Took one more life, epic fail

Cod is the PI
Ned on his right, what he needs
Corpse, must find
Crime-solving premise:
Corpse lives for one minute, Ned touches he, line after…
Line, crime after crime
The Emerson dictum awaits...

(“Hell no!” my man)
“Oh Hell, no!” making me
Laugh!
Emerson, say…
(Hey, Emerson…)
Emerson’s balder than
Fester...
(Cod)
Glistens

(Guitar interlude)

Dreams of his daughter
His pop-up book yearning, Will he find her there?
Freak, she didn’t publish
She spilled on his number
There’s no way to call him, a
Bind, rhyme after rhyme
The private eye pops up the page

(Emerson‘s mad)
Nobody’s calling him
Back!
Publish a page
(Oh, hell no!…)
Private eye service he‘s
Plastered
(Cod)
Mission

(Guitar solo featuring Emerson Cod’s “Oh Hell No!” line)

(“Hell no!” my man)
Mother is white, but he’s
Black!
Line, he must say
(Oh, Hell No!…)
Line has me rolling with
Laughter...
(Oh…)
Hell no!

How many lines do you have?
Who cares anyway?
Forget what you've read in the script now
Say your phrase…

(Guitar outro)

Maybe I couldn't appreciate this parody due to the topic, seeing as I've never seen the show before, but it was a soundly structured parody, so 545.

I'm in the same boat as SP. Never saw the show. Good job on the pacing. Does this character only have one line on the show?

SOTM: With the other two, never seen the show, but not bad...

I miss this show too, I don't remember much about it except for the narrator who read the Harry Potter books on tape that I have is also the narrator of this show...

(SOTM) Never heard of the song, the band or the show. Um...can I go now?

SOTM...while pacing is nice, the subject matter is lost on me...though I've heard it was a good show. Sorry it got canceled.

Seen like three episodes when it came on here after being heavily advertised, had some moments but not even for a comedy did it make sense for the ex-dead ex-girlfriend to stay around the piemaker when as little as a stumble from him could have sent her bake to the grave, kinda like the ending of Will Smith movie Hancock she should have gotten as far away as possible as soon as possible, how much that bugged me is actually almost the only thing I remember from before giving up that show, but unlike the majority here it seems I actually know that much! :-)

SOTM: Haven't seen the show, it read well, but didn't get many laughs from me, which might be because I'm not familiar with it.

I am not familiar with the show so I'm afraid I didn't get it, fun original OS though, I'm afraid I just didn't laugh much though. . .

Can't be many Queensryche parodies here.. never got into Pushing Daisies (even though my daughter did, so I've seen enough of it to know what you're going on about).. put 'em together and you get something kind of weird.

I was in love with this show for the longest time, and we've since lost touch. Good pacing and a fitting tribute to an excellent show.
