The Lyrics

I can hear Phil Collins
In the air tonight, oh Lord
And I've been waiting
For this moment
For all my life, oh Lord
Can you hear Phil Collins
In the air tonight, oh Lord, oh Lord

Well, if you told me you were drumming
I would not lend a hand
I've seen your face before, my friend
But I don't know if you know who I am

Well, I was there
And I saw what you did
I saw it with my own two eyes
So you can wipe off the grin
I know where you've been
It's all been a pack of cigarettes

And I can hear Phil Collins
In the air tonight, oh Lord
Well, I've been waiting
For this moment
For all my life,oh Lord
I can hear Phil Collins
In the air tonight, oh Lord
And I've been waiting
For this moment
For all my life, oh Lord, oh Lord

Well, I remember
I remember, don't worry
How could I ever forget
It's the first time
The last time we ever met

But I know the reason
Why you keep your silence up
No, you don't fool me
The hurt doesn't show
But the pain still grows
It's no strangers to you and me

And I can hear Phil Collins
In the air tonight, oh Lord
Well, I've been waiting
For this moment
For all my life,oh Lord
I can hear him in the air tonight
Oh Lord,oh Lord
And I've been waiting
For this moment
For all my life, oh Lord

I can hear Phil Collins
In the air tonight, oh Lord
And I've been waiting
For this moment
All my life,oh Lord
I can hear him in the air tonight
Oh Lord, oh lord, oh lord.........

Now, now, Karl. This is a free country. Please don't resort to violence because of one parody. It's all in fun. :)

Phil Collins = great drummer (up until he employed the drum box) Phil Collins = not a great singer (at least after Genesis' Wind & Wuthering, and then he seemed to be losing it a bit)

Yeah when I heard the verse about it's all been "a pack of lies" in the original song I was thinking it's "all been a pack of cigarettes" so I thought that part was good!Hey it could have been "It's all been a pack of wolves" that would have been one hell of a stretch of the imagination to join with the parody.

You can hear Phil Collins in the air tonight? In the words of a great President, Ah feel your pain. I can't stand Collins. His band may have been named Genesis, but put him over the loudspeakers and you'll see me make an exodus.

That's a pretty good parody , some of it I think was a little too close to the original but , it's a nice idea. Guess it all depends on how you think of it...hmm.
