The Lyrics

Hey, I think this is the first Paul Engemann parody on this site! In case you're wondering, the original song (Push It To The Limit) was on the movie Scarface. Well anyways, for all you non-Rhode Islanders, Question 1 is to allow for a Narragansett Indian casino here in Rhode Island (if it goes into effect). Though I don't gamble, I'm in favor of this because it'll bring in many tax dollars & new jobs for our state (& plus, people won't take all that to Connecticut casinos like Mohegan Sun). Opponents of this think that this'll also result in our state constitution being rewritten so this one company will get exclusive rights to build the casino sans a bid. I don't believe that bull myself, because I've seen no evidence to prove it. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this parody!
Keep it in Rhode Island.
Please help the Narragansetts,
Don't go to Connecticut,
Or we'll be finished.

Open up Rhode Island.
Please vote yes on Question 1,
Or else those naysayers will have won
If you ditch it.

You can bring us many new jobs,
Lots of tax money & tourists in mobs
If you'd just vote yes.
(Just vote yes!)

All of that is good for our state,
Why are there people who disapprove & hate
& would vote against all of that stuff?
Ignore them!
(Vote yes!)

Welcome to Rhode Island,
Election Day is coming soon,
If we want to give our state a boon,
We better win this!

Keep it in Rhode Island,
Don't be fooled by the naysayers,
That no-bid bull should be thrown down the stairs!
Don't listen to it!

Welcome to Rhode Island,
Please help the Narragansetts,
Don't go to Connecticut,
Or we'll be finished.

Welcome to Rhode Island!
(Rhode Island!) x3
Keep it in Rhode Island!
(Rhode Island!) x3
Keep it in Rhode Island!
(Rhode Island!) x3
Hey, if any fellow Rhode Islanders are reading this now, I hope this'll convince you to vote yes to Question 1. If not, I don't know what will.

I live in California where we have our own complaints, so I don't know about what is going on in Rhode Island. Anyway, I give you 5's for good writing, wit and pacing.

Are you a fellow Rhode Islander too, xRJMorelx? Or do you just like this parody?

Sadly enough, 63% voted against this at election time. And, Sheldon Whitehouse beat Lincoln Chafee in the race for the Senate. F***ing Democrats. OK, I'm not a Republican (or Democrat), & I realize that people have problems with the Republican-controlled House & Senate, but come ON!!!!! Do you really think that a Democrat-controlled House & Senate is the way to go? Personally, I'm a Republicrat (Lincoln Chafee was, too. Look it up), & I believe that the middle is the place to be. Not left, not right, not up, not down, not diagonally, but the middle. Up until Election day, things were looking good for a Republicratic revolution, & with Chafee, he would have given more momentum to lead up to this revolution (even if it wasn't immediate). Now, I'll have to wait longer. Well, at least with Don Carcieri still governor, we may have a bit of a chance.
