I Hate Rick Astley! His music is totally weak, and TSB, you are darn right that Rick Astley's music makes Madonna (as well as Britney Spears and many others) sound good. I saw this parody, clicked, laughed, agreed wholeheartedly, and submitted this comment. 555, but who the Sam Hill is Ochi Brown?
Here's a fact; O'chi Brown is the original singer of "Whenever You Need Somebody", released in 1985. A couple years later, Rick Astley released his debut album that is named after the song that he had covered as well.

why? What did the man ever do to you?
Mr. X, RIck Astley's music was all over the airwaves when I was a little girl, and that inane crap caused me to become a GG Allin and Frank Zappa fan, which literally drove my mother to drinking when she had previously been a teetotaler. By the way, I should have said that I hated his music instead of hating him.
Ok, that's fine to hate his music. But this author is starting to sound like a stuck record, making fun of certain performers. And he picks rather obscure songs to make parodies of; I don't know this OS at all, or if it was even popular in America.

When Rick Astley first came to our shores I thought his singing was OK, that girl in his first video looked real nice but his music was just ordinary neo-disco (just use a synthesizer instead of a string section). Some of his later hits seemed to come from the same mold but radio played them all to death as if there was something really new and revolutionary here. Then in the 90s (Macarena - UGH!) pop music went down the crapper and in the 00s it was totally unlistenable. I'll take Rick over Lady Caca anyday. He was overplayed in 1987 - 1991 but at least he could sing and his songs are rememberable if kind of derivative. Sick of Rick? Something worse could come along and it DID.
