The Lyrics

I miss Saturday morning cartoon blocks! Now with cable you can watch cartoons anytime you want but there was nothing better to get up as a kid on Saturday and watch cartoons for hours (or until your mom made you go play outside).
Weekend mornings I'd just sit
And watch rubish till my brain split
Sugar High I'd watch cartoons
Like Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck
Ate Cookie Crisp with milk stirred
More sugar than a box of Nerds
Sugar High I'd watch cartoons
Until mom yelled "Turn that crap off!"

Sugar High on breakfast food!
Lucky Charms and Golden Grahams
I'd mix them all in one big bowl
And then I'd go out of control!
I would watch Ninja Turtles
Or Dextar's Lab and Johnny Bravo
We'd all get up to see what's on!
Then sugar high we'd watch cartoons!!!

Sugar High on Krispy Kreme!
When dad would bring home fresh-baked donuts!
They're better than some Cap'n Crunch!
I'd much them then get a rush!
I'd go nuts while watching Spongebob!
They're glazed as my eyes as I watch!!!
I'd see Wakko, Yakko and Dot!
As sugar high I'd watch cartoons!

Sugar High, I'm glued to Flintstones
Barney, Fred and lots of rock jokes
Mom would tell me "Go outside!"
"Don't sit too close or you'll go blind!"
Begged "Mom please need Darkwing Duck!"
But out in fresh air I'd be chucked
I would pine for Pokemon
Cause mom denied all my cartoons!
My brain is fried I need cartoons!!!

Sugar High, I loved cartoons!!!

Sugar high kid days were big
But now for work each day I'm risen
At the office I'm ensnared
Now it's Rugrats I am missin'
Saturdays of mine are ruined
Marshmellows replaced by raisins
How I wish I was still young
Time watching TV's amazin'...

The shows have different titles these days, but Saturday morning has always been a multi-hour breakfast "food" commercial with cartoon characters. Security code for this comment "99U"

Speaking of cartoons, there are some that have adult humor that we didn't get as kids. I remember how in Animaniacs where they had a liposuction on a stand in for Ebert, didn't get it back then and thus missing out how gross it was. Gotta remember the fun times.

(SOTM) Some of the grammar and wording were kinda off, which made it a bit difficult to read along, but otherwise this was an enjoyable nostalgia trip, 555!

I had a lot of fun reading and singing along, but I think the humor could have been amped up a lot in this one. It was kind of mellow ironically.

This was an excellent trip down memory lane for me. Thanks for that Matty, happy to see TMNT and Darkwing Duck in there. "I AM THE BATTERIES, THAT ARE -NOT- INCLUDED!!!! I AM THE GHOST OF A CHANCE THAT YOU DON'T HAVE!!!! I AM DARKWING DUCK" And enjoyed your sugary food choices too.

I love the OS, love your cereal and sweet choices (as well as most of your cartoon picks). Your use of the phrase 'Cap'n Crunch' matched up almost PERFECTLY with the OS...great work!
