The Lyrics

OK, I know I'm gonna get some flak for this one, but was it not Henry Wadsworth Longfellow who said "into each life some rain must fall"? Regardless, due to the troubled times we live in, I wanted to give my own twist to a patriotic classic and remind everyone that no matter how bad it may seem, we can all swing together and make a better future, even if it has to be accomplished through some less-than-peaceful means. I mean, Thomas Jefferson did say that "the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants", so yeah. Anyways, enjoy the parody!
If tomorrow all my friends were gone because of Nazi punks
And I had to stop them all with some weapons in my trunk
I’d thank my lucky stars for that ol’ Constitution
‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom and bloody Revolution

I’m still proud to be an American ‘cause I know that I can fight
And I won’t forget the folks who died to keep our sacred rights
And I’d gladly stand up for this land and drive out the chumps today
So don’t you doubt I am a fightin’ man; God Bless the U.S.A.!

From the pens of ol’ Ben Franklin, Hancock and Washington
Sprung forth papers of great weight that protect our speech and gun.
From Lincoln to Obama, to Parks and MLK,
There’s still fight in every American heart, and hatred we will slay

I’m still proud to be an American ‘cause I know that I can fight
And I won’t forget the folks who died to keep our sacred rights
And I’d gladly stand up for this land and drive out the chumps today
So don’t you doubt I am a fightin’ man; God Bless the U.S.A.!

[guitar solo]

I’m still proud to be an American ‘cause I know that I can fight
And I won’t forget the folks who died to keep our sacred rights
And I’d gladly stand up for this land and drive out the chumps today
So don’t you doubt I am a fightin’ man; God Bless the U.S.A.!

"I'm sure we all agree that we ought to love one another, and I know there are people in the world that do not love their fellow human beings, and I HATE people like that!"
