I can't believe I have to explain this again. LIBERALS freed the slaves, conservatives instituted Jim Crow. In the 1860s, the Republicans were the liberals. That changed when they discovered that war, civil and otherwise, was good for business. By the 1870s, America had two conservative parties. Over the 20th Century, the Democratic Party became more liberal, until their Southerners, nearly all conservatives, began to switch parties. If Lincoln were around now, with his support for blacks, labor and education, the men who now run his party would call him a socialist. And he would call them fools.
we dont need no explanation from someone who supports odumba. when he campaigned, he told us of his stimulous yet it was loaded with policies he denied were in it. we need a demoncrat to tell us about history? get real. tax and redistribute for votes, lie and create unconstitutional laws, bail out big businesses and supporters, ruin america and go play golf. great leader that odumbinator
