Thought I'd take my old Hyundai,
For a little pleasure drive down by the lake
Fluffed a puff on her front cushion, and released
The tension on the parking brake..
Slid the key in the ignition, switched it on,
All set to feel her faithful shake
She just growled and clicked, and wouldn't start
Some censored words I'm thinkin', but don't say..

We'd cruised downtown the night before
Bought cigarettes, and cool "Ol' Hy" was tickin'
Eased her through the gears, real nice and smooth, like
I had learned to do, no gear teeth clickin'
Parked her right there on elm street,
And gave each whitewall tire a solid air test kickin'

Every Sunday mornin' I'd walk
Around that car, a blue two-tone
There's just somethin' 'bout a Hyundai
That makes you proud and glad to own
Now mechanics say, "She's done for.."
I cry a tear without a sound
Time to haul her to the crusher,

It was hot that day I found her,
Took my time, by that tenth showroom, birds were singin'
Perked my nose, and sniffed her new car smell,
