The Lyrics

Pharmacists have an unenviable job, preparing medicines and other things that are supposed to help even when you wonder how that could be. Some are very personable and approachable--others, not so much. This parody is dedicated to one of the best who gave me excellent instructions on what to do with a "script" we'd never heard of before!
Walked up to the front of the pharmacy screen
Prescription, in my hand, was gonna be seen
Didn’t know what to do
worried, that part’s true
Then clear out of the blue
She came saying to me, yeah,'
She was talkin’ to me, sayin’.

“I’m a pharmacist
“So give me that ‘scription, would ya,
“I’m your pharmacist
“So stay close by an' wait for me.”

She left so I moved on and waited close by
Said 20 minutes or so and then it’s good-bye
Then I can go home
Refill it by the phone

An' then I was movin' on
Makin’ my way back home
Thinkin’ about a song
What she told me, yeah me, sayin'

I’m your pharmacist
So give me that ‘scription, would ya,
I’m your pharmacist
If there’s a question then call me!

When I did get home, prescription won’t last long

An I'll be callin’ in
An' usin’ that same old number
Yeah I’ll be callin’ it in

To my pharmacist
Gotta get another pre-scrip’ refill
Called my pharmacist
Hopin’ she’ll have my meds for me!

All my pharmacists were great guys.

Most of the ones I dealt with were all right, too. Don't forget, I was career military and dealt with some that weren't quite so people-centered. The pharmacist who was the model, if you will, for this song was about as down to earth as they come, so this parody is kind of a left-handed tribute to a caring pharmacist who enjoys parodies!
