The Lyrics

True story, this one. I've said this phrase, "I love my TI", *so* many times this year, after having to do the most nasty algebra and calculus tasks imaginable, which the 89 makes simple. One day after a particularly nasty homework set, I wrote down the idea for this song, then forgot about it. Well, I just finished it. A bit math heavy, so a few notes about pronunciation: f(x,y,z) is just pronounced "f x y z" - in general, ignore the ()s and pronounce variables as letters. e^t is "e to the t"In this case, I'm using "ln" as just "l n", though I've heard it pronounced "lon" sometimes too.
The DEs homework looks like an absolute ream
A ton of problems, something like seventeen
Know how to get along -
Never's turned me wrong
Yeah, I could tell it wouldn't take long
To finish DEs, home free
And I could tell it wouldn't take long
To finish DEs, home free, singin'

I love my TI
Cause integrating this crap'll drive me crazy
I love my TI
Now differentiate f(x,y,z)

By hand this set would be a terrible pain
Use 89s it takes
Only half a brain
I type integrate the zone, between a sphere and cone
An' next gotta sketch some graphs -
e^t * c
So easy I could laugh -
Cause it's like points for free, singin'

I love my TI
I'll have it take the cube of this matrix, baby
I love rock n' roll
Now differentiate f(x,y,z)

I type integrate the zone, between a sphere and cone
An' next gotta sketch some graphs -
e^t * c -
All to the cosine(s) times tangent of ln(pi
over t), singin'

I love my TI
I'll have it take the cube of this matrix, baby
I love my TI
Now find the roots of log of cosine(t)

I love my TI
I'll have it take the cube of this matrix, baby
I love my TI
Now differentiate f(x, y)

I love my TI
I'll have it take the cube of this matrix, baby
I love my TI
Now differentiate f(x, y)

I love my TI
I'll have it take the cube of this matrix, baby
I love my TI
Now differentiate f(x, y)

I love my TI
I'll have it take the cube of this matrix, baby
I love my TI
Now differentiate f(x,y,z)

I love my TI, but for different reasons. You can play old-school video games on it before class starts.

Fours on merit, plus a bonus point for not mentioning Britney's awful verison from "Crossroads."

Dang, now I'm annoyed I didn't mention that, Olvan - I also play games frequently on it. In fact, my favorite Tetris clone is an 89 port. So yeah, agreed. Also, thanks both for the 5s.

I love nerd songs, but this one didn't stack up to some of the others in my opinion, sorry. Pacing was good.

(SOTM) Very good! It was over my head though. :(

(SOTM) Haha, nem! Unfortunately I have no idea what you're on about, so I feel like I can't vote...but will anyway. :-)

Yeah, thanks for makin' me feel STUPUD. Excellent pacing, though, and if I say it's funny I'll look smarter so FUNNY STUFF. Seriously, it was a very fun read.

Shouldn't this be in the Foreign Language section? Heh heh. Nice job, nem.

(SOTM) An enjoyable read, but Down Under we pronounce 'z' as zed, so I should technically deduct points on a repeated rhyming defect ;) I agree with Jeff, it could've been more nerdy. 5-4-4

Clever parody with clever rhyming.

(SOTM) When I was at M.I.T., back during the Cretaceous Period, it was a status symbol of superior geekitude and nerddom to have a slick HP45 slung in a holster on your belt. Funny, clever parody!

(SOTM) Loved it just 'cus you said 'cone'... ;-)

so 2nz thinks claude is rick and pippin thinks neminem is 2nz... we really ought to have some meetings so we can tell each other apart. Pretty good parody and i'm glad i don't have to bother with graphing calculators anymore because math is harder with them than before them

I think it's clever too. Not sure how you knew I'd be the next person to comment, but time makes fools of us all... anyhow, really fun parody Nem, and one that I can very much relate to.
