Granny takes pills because she's a depressed widow. She's depressed because, among other reasons, her kids and grandkids don't call. She has no purpose. Nobody to cook for. Get her a home aide. Taper her off the pills. Actually, Granny is at less risk than Gramps was because she is more likely to have a social support network of friends. Alzheimer's? Three of my friends, all male, went into oblivion, and they led clean lives. Support Alzheimer's research. Call your Granny.
