Song Parodies -> "Living In Antarctica lll"

Original Song Title:

"Living In America"

Original Performer:

James Brown

Parody Song Title:

"Living In Antarctica lll"

Parody Written by:

Max Power

The Lyrics

Yeah.
Yeah, uh! bear down, now! Ow! Melt this down!

Giant glaciers, frost to frost,
easy to get killed out there
That's the monumental overdrive,
just leap out of the camp
No longer damp

There is no destination - it's too cold
And while on your way,
you will learn that you're not alone

Chorus:
Living in Antarctica - ice to ice, passage to passage
Living in Antarctica - day to day, across the glacier
Living in Antarctica - got to know a revelation

Froze my butt

Toothfish, two fish,
many miles of perma-frost
Those stupid penguins, keep on swimmin'
through the freezin' icy hell
All day everything is at stake,
yo, on roast penguins and a toothfish
You will have to warm yourself up,
you can burn yourself up
But everyone does it everyday

(chorus)

I live in Antarctica, get me out,
'cause I live in Antarctica,
wait a second

You might not be looking for some safe haven,
and you will never find it here
Under one of those unfamiliar names
Like Mt. Herschel (Mt. Herschel),
Marie Byrd Land (Marie Byrd Land), Ross Sea (Ross Sea)
Mount Erebus (Mount Erebus),
Vinson Massif (Vinson Massif)
Beardmore Glacier (Beardmore Glacier),
Grytviken (Grytviken), Leith Harbour and Husvik

Living in Antarctica - it's cold
Living in Antarctica - yo,
I drank anti-freeze
Living in Antarctica

I live in Antarctica - ice caps,
gonna get some warmth, that
I live in Antarctica - hack,
I know how it feels, I'm

Living in Antarctica - Saddam Hussein, keep on swinging
Living in Antarctica - dive in, I said now, ice to ice,
passage to passage
Living in Antarctica - alright, now you're chillin'
Living in Antarctica - feelin' good!
Wanna live here?

Nice place, wouldn't want to live there. You get a 545 just for looking up Antarctic place names.

Better to laugh one's butt off than freeze it off.

Max, this is by far your best parody to date. Great pacing, rhyming, and a funny idea. "I drank anti-freeze" cracked me up. 555

(SOTM) Certainly showing signs of improvement Max. . .You still have a little ways to go on pacing, but the comedy end is deffinitely here. . .and inclusion of actual locations within Antartica, which is obviously filled primarily without population but instead scientists. . .that was a good touch.

(SOTM) Wow! I'll echo the comments that this is your best parody yet, and this was a great one. Great concept, too!

SOTM - I'll second what Red Ant said already.

SOTM - A little difficult to [global] warm up to only because I'm not familiar with the OS and too lazy to look it up at 5:30 in the morning, but content wise it's very good. I'll also give you credit for name dropping a bunch of places most people have never heard of!
Stuart McArthur - March 27, 2007 - Report this comment
(SOTM)...so tell me, Max (coz I've always wondered) - is it possible to get from Marie Byrd Land to Ross Sea without having to go through Vinson Massif, or would that involve an overnight camp-out at Grytviken? - funny idea, and that placename stanza was a doozy! - lol - 555
Tim Mayfield - March 29, 2007 - Report this comment
SOTM - So what is the ant population like there? And their art? I'm sure its great, otherwise they would have picked a different name.
tomario - March 30, 2007 - Report this comment
