The Lyrics

God he gave to me
A job to name these things
You see that bird that’s inside that nest?
Choice is mine… I think I’ll name it a tit
Career’s not boring but I am not scoring
God’s the best boss that I had
Took a rib from my chest
And now I’ll get laid!

Names!
I’ve got to give these creatures!
This annoying bug I’ll call “fly”
(Why?)
Because it soars without feathers
And eats garbage like it is pie

Names!
This buck-toothed thing I’ll call “Beaver”
It’s building log dams by the lake!

Names!
Doing this is now my career
God he pays me to give names!
(An oyster! A panther! A beaver! A tiger!)
(An otter! A rooster! A ferret! A parrot!)

With Eve as my wife
She’s nothing but strife
Since she’s been here I keep having flops
Made up “Dove” when I already made “Pigeon”
God laid down the law but Eve just sunk her claws in
Listened to that thing I called “Snake”
Apple’s a mistake!

Damn!
Kicked from of garden of Eden!
Once again I’m unemployed!
(Oy!)
My cushy job is now fleeting
And it’s all thanks to my wife!

Names!
I had great ideas like “chicken”
“Lion” that thing with a mane
Names!
I used to give these critters!
That was my own claim to fame
(An oyster! A panther! A beaver! A tiger!)
(An otter! A rooster! A parrot!)

Names!
I’ll call this bird a vulture!
Cause it eats things that have died!
Yikes!
He never let me finish my job there
And it was all thanks to my wife!

Names!
I’ll pitch ideas to Heaven!
If he goes take them that’s lame
(Lame!)
I’m working on something called “Eagle”
A symbol for US of A
(An oyster! A panther! A beaver! A tiger!)
(An otter! A rooster! A parrot! A ferret!)
In charge of these names!

Names!
My name ideas were clever!
Names!
“Penguin” a bird that can’t fly!
Names!
“Cows” those things are used to make leather
Names!
Now all my requests are denied!
(Used to give all these names!)

Oops! Typo! "If he goes take them that’s lame" should have been "If he doesn't take them that's lame".

I was deeply touched by this parody as Adam and Eve is one of my favorite Bible stories, next to David and Goliath! Brought a meaning to The Book of Genesis! May you be blessed and baptized with 5's for this one!
