The Lyrics

In this day and age we keep hearing that it's all a matter of appearance, that it's only the outside that matters and that what first meets the eye is all that there is. Well, on the outside this is a song sung by a Westerner imprisoned by terrorists in Afghanistan and longing for his buddy soldiers to come rescue him, so should you come to find anything else under that surface during this four minutes long take on Hooters it's all in your head and doesn't really matter, right? :-)
Every captive night has a dawning day
Every captive guy gives up in no way
As I'm living through, I can clearly see
There's a time to come, when they'll come for me
Hardcore privates in motion unchain me tonight
On a young mujahedeena's... ass I'll ride and be alright
And one day they will unbind me, I know I'll be set free
Let them privates in motion come for me
Come for me

When a captive's wired and his flesh is weak
Still he'll handle shoves even if he's beat
Well I've seen two jugs, up-the-riverwise
Held up was I there, even bust tongue-tied
Hardcore privates in motion unchain me tonight
On a young mujahedeena's... ass I'll ride and be alright
And one day they will unbind me, I know I'll be set free
Let them privates in motion come for me

Every captive site has a place to lay
Every captive man's fighting all the way
As I'm living through, I can clearly see
There's a time to come, and they'll come for me
Ol' hardcore privates in motion unchain me tonight
On a young mujahedeena's... ass I'll ride and be alright
Yes, one day they will unbind me, I know I'll be set free
Let them privates in motion come for me
Let them privates in motion come for me
Let them privates in motion come for me
Come for me
Come for me

Congratulations on yet another first band/song submission, Peter. I'm not sure I got the whole gist of the parody, but it scanned perfectly to TOS...

(SOTM) Even with your explanatory intro, I just don't get this, Peter. It's a great bit of strange poetry, but even with the song available, I ....words escape me.

Maybe I've crossed the border for how far double entendres and metaphors can be taken when the underlying hidden theme is sex and reaching climax. I guess parodies about eating food, petting animals and various happy-happy joy-joy activities are an easier giveaway than writing from the perspective of a prisoner of war, or maybe it's that you Americans really are at war at the moment that makes your minds don't wanna go for that combination while reading this. If the latter I hope I don't offended anyone with relatives over there, I didn't think about that possibility when I wrote this parody, it all started with an/the idea for the title and the surface subject of the rest of the lyrics wasn't intentional to begin with, it was the "mujahedeena's... ass" substitute of the original (very tricky part to pace) that forced the whole thing that way.

(SOTM) DKTOS and DGTJ, if there was a joke in there. This was pretty good, though. I award you fives based on pacing and how profound. 555

SOTM-absolutely hilarious Phil, I really enjoyed your take on this song, that I had never heard before today. . .pacing was as good as can be.

It's been pointed out to me I falsely said Phil instead of Peter (bangs head on wall) wow and I wasn't even that tired. . .sorry about that.

Peter (after your commentary)-- I have no offense. I get the sexual stuff, but I really can't put it together with the POW theme. It just didn't gel for me.

(SOTM) This reminds me of a certain exchange in Hamlet...

"Hamlet: Then you live about [Fortune's] waist, or in the middle of her favors?"
"Guildenstern: Faith, her privates we."

Bah to those who couldn't get this...this was a brilliant double entendre!

(SOTM) I also didn't get it. But then I don't get most things. At least the pacing was tight!

This Pow was just Wow
Red Ant - January 27, 2007 - Report this comment
(SOTM) Like Agrimorfee, the sex stuff combined with POW theme wasn't working for me either, but I think I've figured it out now: if I disregard the opening comment (sorry), I come away reading something that sounds like a very good BDSM parody, which is what I think you were aiming for, and achieved.

(SOTM) Now THAT's a disturbing parody from The Land Of The Midnight Sun!
Stuart McArthur - January 29, 2007 - Report this comment
(SOTM) before reading your explanation, it was "On a young mujahedeena's... ass I'll ride and be alright" that twigged the double entendre direction of this for me, Peter, because whatever a mujahedeena is, it just sounds dirty - but I'm also tipping that it was the title sub that started your brain ticking though, because it's a good one - 555
Kristof Robertson - January 29, 2007 - Report this comment
(SOTM) I read this a few times, Peter, but I just couldn't get it to sit right in my head, if you know what I mean. Odd, but your use of language always impresses

(SOTM) Not sure what to say... sorry.

Thought I'd commented on this one first time around - much more subtle that I was expecting from the title ;-D

Privates in motion, a place to lay, a time to come, and they'll come for me... I have some inner demons that pay to see this kinda stuff. Well-played, Peter.
