The Lyrics

In honor of every kid who would rather play than take a nap during a stint id day care, nursery school, etc. My grandson is going through some of this these days!
All my drowsy friends have snuggled down, sometimes happens after singin’ songs,
Nobody wants to get toys on the floor, they all just want to rest some more
Yes, it’s true, I’ve had some calmer days, and seen a statement at the top of the sheet
But it’s really nice to have a friend in the crowd
Yet nobody wants to go play on the ground
“Cos all my drowsy friends have snuggled down.

And now I know just what they meant, when I first heard the news
That every day, just after lunch, I’d have to take a snooze
Then sometimes they’ll have something for us kids to do
But nobody’s getting toys on the ground
No, all my drowsy friends are snuggled down.

Now the scrapes and bumps, they hurt more than they used to
And lunch from home sure took the place of all my baby food
It really seems that we do things that they just want us to
But nobody wants to go play on the ground-for all my drowsy friends have snuggled down.

Yeah, I really know just what they meant when they told me the rules
“Put back your toys when you get done”, just like we’ll do in school
They’ll sure give me the eagle eye if I try to play the fool
And nobody wants to go play on the ground
‘Cos all my drowsy friends have snuggled down!

Yeah, me and my drowsy friends have zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Time for a pleasant snooze, no?
