Forces amassed? 350,000 supported by 20,000 AFVs and MBTs, 2450 aircraft, and 465 military helos!!! This looks like an invasion force and meanwhile Turkey is massing forces on its southern border. Could this be a Sunni attempt to take out ISIS and Assad? Russia and Iran have already warned that they will strike back if attacked leading to news of possible WW3. Putin and advisors say they are ready and Putin has moved nuclear capable SS-26s to Kaliningrad. Russian sub activity back up to Cold War levels. This situation is worse than the pre-WW1 treaties pitting nations against nations. Sunni Arab and Muslim States against Iran, Russia, and Syria. Iran and Lebanon under Hezbollah against Israel. Russia, Iran, Syria against Syrian Rebels. US backs Syrian Rebels and US against ISIS. ISIS vs everyone and preparing for world attacks! A powder keg. One match and WW3!

It would be a total waste if this was an exercise and 20 armies went home while right on the Border. The Saudi Coalition and Turkey's might on its southern border is enough to kill ISIS with minimal US air support and ground Intel. The US, West, and Israel could sit this one out. And as long as those armies did not seek to remove Assad or stay, then no war with Russia, Iran, and Hezbollah in Lebanon. A win-win. But Saudi Arabia and Turkey want Assad out and the Shias withdrawn from Syria and Iraq. Kurds want territory, nation status, and Iraqi oil.
Just like 1914, this is one we have a major interest in sitting out. If Trump starts talking isolationism to the American people, he will guarantee his next eight years in the Oval Office.
