Original Song Title:

Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"Shef Burger"

Parody Written by:

Robert D. Arndt Jr.

The Lyrics

A tribute to an old Burger Chef sandwich- the Big Shef which I recently duplicated at home! Just needed buns, meat, cheese, lettuce, and special sauce ingredients. Jon's gonna love this one!
I wanted to get it right
Saw the sauce ingredients on a site
Made one brand new
My old Burger I lusted for
Buns toasted and meat cooking
Ooh, mixed the sauce goo
And stacked the beast up, made more!

So many used to eat this- see?
Burger Chef
Big Shef ordering
When I was a child
McDonald's was second
A Burger Chef copying whore*
Stole from the latter
Chef was notch above
But Hardee's later bought all the stores!!!

(Chorus)
(Aw-yes, here it comes)
Whipping up
The special sauce
(Aw-yes, here it comes)
A Big Shef burger
(Aw-yes, here it comes)
Buns toasted
Meat, cheese, and lettuce
(Aw-yes, here it comes)
A Big Shef burger

Nostalgia is so cool
Especially if making food
Got my frying pan
And a bun toaster so it's hot
A real juicy burger
Ooh, the twin patties are there
Slice of cheese to keep them apart!

(Chorus)

[Resurrecting old school food]

Yummy!
(Aw-yes, here it comes)
Here it comes
Much to enjoy
I'll serve it up
(Aw-yes, here it comes)
(It's hot) a Big Shef burger
(Aw-yes, here it comes)
(A Big Chef burger)
Ooh, special sauce up top
(Aw-yes, here it comes)
Here it comes, a Big Shef burger
(Aw-yes, here it comes)
(It's hot)
Gotta make it just right...
(Aw-yes, here it comes)
Here it comes
A Big Shef burger
(Aw-yes, here it comes)
(A Big Shef burger)
Like when I was a child
(Aw-yes, here it comes)
Here it comes
Here to enjoy, here to enjoy
(Aw-yes, here it comes)
Oh, watch out, it's hot
It's hot, it's hot
(Aw-yes, here it comes)
(Mmm, Mmm) A Big Shef burger
(Aw-yes, here it comes)
(A Big Shef burger)
It's delicious and mouthwatering
(Aw-yes, here it comes)
A Big Shef burger!!!
* stole the Fun Meal and made it a Happy Meal. Big Mac looks like a rip-off too!

If anyone wants to make this, here is what you need:
1 pack plain buns
1 pack fresh hamburger patties (small size)
1 bag shredded lettuce
1 pack American cheese
Bottle of dill relish
Bottle of Miracle Whip
Bottle of Louisiana hot sauce
Pack of dehydrated onions

Make the sauce first:
Combine a few Tbl sp of dill relish with the dehydrated onions and let sit for a few hours to soak in the flavor
Combine in a bowl a few Tbl sp of Miracle Whip and add a few drops of hot sauce. Dump in the relish and onions and mix thoroughly. Set aside.
Cook patties, add America cheese to one, and toast bun crown and TWO heels (I did it on my electric grill).
Build the burger.
Spread sauce on crown of bun and bottom heel.
Add patty with cheese to bottom heel.
Set second toasted heel on top of lower patty.
Add second patty on top.
Sprinkle shredded lettuce over patty as desired.
Cap with bun crown!

Thanks Jon! It's summer, so time for some food and drink parodies. Are you still drinking Diet Coke?

Hey Jon, I thought of another parody you could do. How about "I Want RC" for Bow Wow Wow's "I Want Candy?" Pepsi could also substitute for RC!!! You could add a gripe about getting rid of Splenda OR just do "I Want Splenda!!!" Now THAT is up your alley ;-)
Burton Cola - July 10, 2018 - Report this comment
It's the new Diet Pepsi taking over; It's the new Splenda lady come to call. Try that

Rob - thanks for the suggestions, mate! I'll probably do it as the "RC" one and include the Pepsi gripe, considering that change is what made me seek out the other Splenda-sweetened Diet Sodas! :)
Burton Cola - I think I'm just being slow again, what song are you suggesting I parody? naturally, I'll be happy to oblige. :)

"No Sugar Tonight" by Guess Who (with lead singer Burton Cummings). The lines that were parodied: It's the new Mother Nature taking over; it's the new special lady come to call..

Or Any Song At All. Like Nirvana For Instance, The Song's Called "All Apologies". Give It Some RC Cola.

Darius - I'm not much of a Nirvana guy, that Eagles idea is solid, though!
Burton - see? I knew I was being slow! I shoulda known that one! I freakin' love The Guess Who! I can see it now: "No Sugar Tonight In My RC, No Sugar Tonight In My Tea!" ('cause you know, splenda...)

No sugar tonight in my Teem (Teem was a failed Pepsico version of Sprite)
