The Lyrics

For those Ameriphobes among you who don't realize that there is a world east of New York and west of Baghdad...(OK, im going too far and yes I don't have perfect teeth):The EU expands to 25 countries this May 1st, and will officially overtake the US as the worlds largest economy once all of those countries adopt the Euro (12 of the existing 15 EU countries already have, another 8 of the 10 new countries have pledged to). Increasingly, Europeans are excited and afraid as the EU grows more like a 'federal' government day by day. Just this year alone: a EU wide entity is created to manage aviation safety, an EU constitution will (probably) be agreed for the first time, the EU will get a president, and possibly a foreign minister. Also, an EU military exists (in embryo form) for the first time ever. You can spin it any way you want, but the descriptions of what the EU is up to sound eerily similar to events in the US 100 years ago.
The world is our oyster........
Ha ha ha ha ha........

The Europhobes are winding me up
The federal call
The federal call

Who-ha who-ha who-ha who-ha

In Mastericht did EEC

A EuroZone erect
Moving in keep moving in-yeah
Moving at one million miles an hour
Using its power
I think i'm gonna cower
The USA is mocking it
You really can't afford it-yeah
Really can't afford it

This rising star will never stop
It just wants to reach the top
This rising star will never stop
It just wants to reach the top

[Repeat]

Here comes a 'superpower'
What a pushover-yeah
Here comes a 'superpower'
What a pushover

[Repeat]

You're a long way from home
But you're still in the EuroZone
Helsinki to Rome
Thats how far our coins can roam
No borders to Roam
Welcome to the EuroZone

Moving in
Keep moving in

France and Germany atop our tower
Britain on the edge that's getting old
Italy and Spain please fit the mould
Eastern countries do just as you're told

Keep moving in
Got to reach the top

Don't stop
They tax your life-oh my
Keep moving in
In again-yeah

This rising star will never stop
The USA it wants to top

Even when they reach the top
There goes a supernova
No more a pushover

[Repeat]

[Repeat 1]

Who-ha who-ha
Welcome to the EuroZone

Yes, Sim, Oui, Ja, Sì
Integrate the whole EC
No, Não, Non, Nein
We cannot make up our mind

WELCOME TO EUROPE........ha ha ha ha ha........
Recepción a Europa........ha ha ha ha ha........
Bienvenue vers l'Europe........ha ha ha ha ha........
Benvenuto ad Europa........ha ha ha ha ha........
Willkommen zu Europa........ha ha ha ha ha........
Boa vinda a Europa........ha ha ha ha ha........

Long way from home
welcome to the EuroZone
A joint army will roam
welcome to the EuroZone
Will you feel at home?
WELCOME TO THE EUROZONE

I've been trying my hardest to remember the original: I recall when it came out, and seem to remember a pretty speedy driving bassline, but can't remember the vocal at all - I'll be back once I've found a copy.
