The Lyrics

I've been away, but after last Sunday, I have to write my praise: God bless the U.S.A.
Bullets eased our pain, U S A's best show
Barack sent the order, he said the seals can go
And they stormed the compound, perfect mission so clean
And right there by the wall, they caught that evil gleam

There were no sitars, but our guns sure played
They aimed right for his eyes, and their very next play
Sent him gifts from our guns, from the navy seals store
Didn't lose this chance to get him, now he's dead for sure

And no sitars, played out in that land, only one song, to sing out grand
Star Spangled bars, closed out our show
With a deep sea ticket, sinking evil below
And we started shouting, that evil's gonna stop
Gotta keep on shouting, today wanna thank our troops a lot

Scream out our troops are heroes, Bin Laden's demise, our troops are heros
There were no sitars, troops are heros, give them high fives
Troops are heroes, (saved all our lives) They got Bin Laden, Alright!

In a town full of great pain, the New Yorkers stand tall
And they got well served justice, with Bin Laden's fall
Can't forget all the past, 9 1 1 still remains
But our troops by far, took away some pain

And we need to keep on cheering, that means a lot
Gotta keep on praising, those seals who got Bin Laden stopped
Because those troops are heros, got stars and stripes pride
Cheer out loud for heroes, justice has arrived

Yes, praise our heroes, faith has new life
Justice raised the bar,(faith has new life)
Peace has arrived, it's arrived tonight...Yeah

Yes, I've gotta keep on screaming, evil's stopped
Gotta keep on cheering, those troops will get my thanks a lot

And they now blessed ground zero, wiped fear from our eyes
For our troops are heroes, we're safe in our skies
(Heard no sitars) Troops are heroes, (yeah yeah yeah) wiped tears from our eyes
God bless those Troops, our heroes, yeah yeah yeah
Bless are (stars) heroes, (stars, stars) spangled heroes, (stars, stars)
Made sure Bin Laden died, Bin Laden died....

Ignoring the irony of using a band named Foreigner to praise U.S. troops, this was, like the SEAL operation itself, well done.

Thanks, Michael..LOL and the Foreigner comment!

Hey good parody! As for the Foreigner irony, the band got its name because its lineup consists of Brits and Yanks. The Afghanistan war has British and other nation's troops in our Allied force. OK, our Navy SEALS did the job of flushing bin Laden out, but who helped supply the intelligence and INSIDE INFORMATION (album refernce) gathering so the mission could be done? Anyway, I hope this will end this war soon. 10 years is way too long.

Thanks, IMLTTGONM! Yes, I read we got the lead on Bin Ladin though one of his courier names that we got out of WATERBOARDING a prisoner. Surf's up!

Thanks 4 the comment but it's been on the Net and newspapers that the INSIDE INFORMATION was obtained from that vital prisoner (I can't recall his name) but he spilled the beans years later after he was waterboarded. He was interrogated by other means later on and then they were able to coax it out of him. John McCain knows it from experience and other former POWs know it too. Torture doesn't do a whole lotta good. Finally, if you see STAR WARS: A NEW HOPE the torture droid exerted Leia to give a fib ("Dantooine") just so the pain would stop. Sorry to burst your bubble but waterboarding didn't lead to this success. It took careful work and it finally has paid off : )

(SOTM) Pretty Damn good!

(SOTM) Honestly, I could do without the "support our troops" moral, and I would have preferred more bin Laden bashing, a la what SNL did. But just like the Little Mermaid skit, I didn't see bin Laden coming, and that made it all the more funnier. 555

This wasn't exactly funny, per say, but a very good message and one that hasn't been told through the art of parody often enough. Plus AWESOME original song.
Abbott Skelding - June 18, 2011 - Report this comment
Nice message in a good spoof of a great OS! Plus, I like the title switch you did here...nice work!

SOTM: Better to be a hero than a zero, I always say! :-) 555!

(SOTM) I can honestly say that this parody didn't do much for me. All I know about Osama is that he was doing something bad in the Middle East therefore the US made him go asplodey. Obviously I couldn't get behind the "Go America!" sentiment due to the fact that I'm Australian, but besides that I really cannot dig this parody. Not your fault, dude, it's just me and my lack of knowledge about the War on Terror.
