The Lyrics

Original Song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDbpzjbXUZI
Son, I can't understand it
Why your grades are failing
Already have an F, and it’s week two!
You say you’re going to classes
The teacher’s never see ya – (or your classmates either)
Something just isn’t right
So I must ask you...

Why are you so tardy all the time?
Tardy all the time
Tardy all the time
Not sure why you’re tardy all the time
Tardy all the time

You’re tardy all the time –
(tardy all the time)
Why are you tardy all the time?
(Tardy all the time)
(Tardy all the time) - “I am not tardy ALL the time”
(Tardy all the time).

I hear you go out to clubs
just spending your time dancing
You should be reading, attending class you see.
Your mom and I want you bright
That’s why we pay tuition
We wish that you would take this more seriously

But instead, you’re just tardy all the time
Tardy all the time
Tardy all the time
Younger brother is doing just fine
He’s always on time!

So tell us why you’re tardy all the time
Tardy all the time
Tardy all the time
Can’t you make us happy just this time?
Please show up on time!

(Tardy, tardy, tardy…)
“He’s failing, tardy all the time.

And when he does show up on time-
He puts his head down
His snoring drowns me out
He’s always tardy
He’s out all over town
Tardy all the time - does he want to get a degree!?”
Nah.
Tardy all the time - party all the time.
The part in quotes toward the end is a letter from the professor...in case you didn't pick that up.

Too bad Eddie's original song wasn't as INTENTIONALLY funny as this one!

(Ages) Hilarious, pacing wasn't perfect, but I could sing it pretty well aside from my awful voice... 4-5-5...

(Ages 2) I love this one. Talk about being fashionably late! This student in your parody is quite a slacker and a truant! Friends of mine in college even try to talk me into ditching my classes, but I'm not the ditch type. I love the way you incorporated the song from the OS and your words fit the OS as well. I hope that I'm not "tardy" on giving you 555's!!

I think it's pretty hilarious that Eddie Murphy actually sang in the 80s. That being said this was a great parody and I've heard this lecture by my own parents a whole bunch of times while going to college.

Nice title sub. I actually enjoyed this when it came out back in the day. But your lyrics were still an improvement :)

(AofA) I'm a huge fan of the OS. So much fun to just groove along to. I found myself going back to rescan a few lines. Some of them were a little off. But this was so funny, I'll give you a pass. 555 tardies for ya! WTF is my security code HA!

(Ages) Well, if your hypothetical son is out so much, surely it's less "tardy" and more "absent", right? Putting my pedantic antics aside, this was a pretty sweet parody to a very catch OS. And I just want to 5 you all the time, 5 you all the time 5 you all the ti-ime! Couldn't help meself ;)

AGES...as the girl who arrives at work every day at 8:15, I can totally appreciate this! Nice work...:)
