The Lyrics

have you ever had the misfortune of walking right into a glass door so clean, it's practically invisible? well, this bloke has! and his co-workers never let him live it down...
the following parody is based on an untrue story...
OS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2e8QLpFgVE
I didn't see what was right there
wish I knew all along, man, it wasn't fair, it looked clear as air
then I got the #3!! out of there
That Was A Closed Door

I kept all my bones intact, but the office @$$#0!3$
keep giving me flack, they won't cut me no slack
and I don't know if I can go back
Because Of That Closed Door

That Was A Closed Door
I’m Glad That I Didn't Run, I Mighta Gotten Stuck With The Shards
So Many Glass Shards
That Was A Closed Door
I Felt Like A Fool, Smacked That Windexed Glass, Hard!
That Was A Closed Door

co-workers make joke 99, so f****n’ funny
the masters of humor, I’m splitting my sides
but I swear to God, I nearly cried
When I Hit That Closed Door

will there ever be a time in my life
when I get back my pride, they put it aside, don't laugh all the time?
when you're at work, please all, be advised
Watch For Closed Doors…

That Was A Closed Door
I’m Glad That I Didn't Run, I Mighta Gotten Sliced By The Shards
Hit That Door, Hard
That Was A Closed Door
Try To Keep My Cool, But AFV Makes It Hard
Filmed Smacking Closed Door (exasperated sigh)

That Was A Closed Door
I Didn't See What Was Right There
That Was A Closed Door

That Was A Closed Door
Joke Number 199
That Was A Closed Door

That Was A Closed Door
It Looked So Clear And I Hit It, Hard
That Was A Closed Door
thanks for reading!

Jonathan, are you ever going to write about Earl's dark days of drinking and his Soul Train honey? That would be great seeing as you'd use one of his own songs to tell the story.

Jeff - thank you!
Harry - well, I'm aware that Earl was hitting the bottle pretty hard before he made it big, in his own words "(he) probably drank up more than (he) made" playing in bars, I have yet to see anything on his "Soul Train Honey" could you perhaps provide me with a link? I tried searching when this first came up, have found nothing...
