And Cody doesn’t mind, if he doesn’t make the team
He’s got a lifeguard job, he doing alright
He can do the butterfly like anything

There’s a throng of young jocks they’re muckin’ about in the locker
Pumped and dressed in their best black jammers and their cupped up backs
They don’t give a damn about any Mark Spitz wannabe
It’s not what they call a good stroke

And then the coach he steps right up with a microphone
And says at last just as the practice time’s up
