The Lyrics

Regarding the mechanics of the rewrite, an approximate rather than the true melody was stored in my head for the last 25 years. I think of the rewrite's title as walking away from Christianity after struggling earnestly with it. Errantists discuss errors of genealogies, geography, history, and so on, but James 2:10 is a logical error I cannot simply overlook: "For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it." James 2:10, NIV ( http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=James+2:10&version=NIV ). Someone who steals a penny is guilty of stealing a penny--not of killing in cold blood. Whether one can accidentally steal a penny is a subject for another day. I don't mean to refer to good works as the key to eternal salvation, but simply as a means of making the world a better place. That such references may seem consistent with Romans 12:21 ("Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." Romans 12:21, NIV ( http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans+12:21&version=NIV ) is generally coincidental. I still believe David Meece has considerable talent, and I wish him well.
You've got a great many rules on your plate
If you've violated the entire law,
But any person of reason would think
That to conclude you have is a logical flaw.

You can go now. You can go.
What you've actually done can be said to be so.
You can go now. You can go
To the arms of the truth and what people can know.

I saw you there in that room as a kid,
And I saw that you took the ink pen away;
But I don't want you to die for the theft;
Some forgive and forget and then go on their way.

You can go now. You can go.
That you are a murderer's simply not so.
You can go now. You can go.
Get out and do good before you are old.

We have made mistakes. We have fallen short,
But we have not caused a nuclear war.
Let us stop and think, and try to do good,
And not be evil all the way to the core.

You can go now. It's not true
That all possible sin is accounted to you.
You can go now. We all should
Not be depraved, but rather should be good.

You can go now. You can go.
That you are a murderer's simply not so.
You can go now. You can go.
Get out and do good even if you are old.

You can go now. It's not true
That all possible sin is accounted to you.
You can go now. We all should
Not be depraved, but commit acts of good.

RIDICULOUS lyrics, context, lack of understanding (or desiring to understand) a simple scripture...pitiful
