The Lyrics

Rising up around around the world -
are you ready for a brand new threat?
It's the undead horde and they're rising up
There are zombies in the street!
They're waddling out of the graveyard,
They want our brains!
In every city -

What you need is chainsaw, swift chainsaw
as there'll be zombies everywhere.
There'll be swinging and swaying and undead slaying,
Zombies in the street.
Oh, it doesn't matter what you fear,
as the undead horde is there
So come on, run away or grab an axe
They're rising up from graves and cracks!
They'll be waddling -
There are zombies in the street.

It's a resurrection of of the undead section,
An invasion of folks of meat.
There'll be screaming, clinging, and chainsaw swinging,
zombies in the street.
They want our brains
Apocalyps-ie Now
Can't escape the Undead rising.

What you need is chainsaw, swift chainsaw
as there'll be zombies everywhere.
There'll be swinging and swaying and undead slaying,
Zombies in the street.
Oh, it doesn't matter what you fear,
as the undead horde is there
So come on, run away or grab an axe
They're rising up from graves and cracks!
They'll be waddling -
There are zombies in the street.

Zombies in the street...

It's an infestation of the undead nation :) -- that coulda worked. I did this one a while back under the performer name of Martha Reeves and the Vandellas. Perhaps, Motown tunes haddn't penetrated Finnish airwaves of the early Sixties and left you unaware of the fact that this was an early soul classic performed by one of the most underappreciated singers of all time (Martha Reeves, of course). But then again, maybe not

BTW, Susanna, the security code for my previous post was 7X6, which I'm guessing is some sort of sign. So here's your score .. 6666666! ....... A most fitting score for a parody abouT the zombie apocalypse

CML: I am too young to remember the original - I remember only the Bowie/Jagger version of the original. Anyway, it provides a neat basis for a spoof.

I agree, Susanna, the Bowie/Jagger version is indeed spoof-worthy

A couple of word doubles must have lived through proof reading but they didn't kill the theme.

GUTS. Don't forget that Van Halen covered this too.
