The Lyrics

I think I dropped them when I took the car out for a spin
Or maybe they slipped out of my greasy fingertips
I think that this time I've blown it (maybe)
I just hope, she doesn't notice

I lost my mother's car keys
Oh, my mother's car keys
I lost my mother's car keys,
And they're gone, gone, gone... oh, oh, oh

They're nowhere to be found, I checked every drawer and room
And man, maybe they're on the floor of our Malibu
Ooh, it makes me just feel like dying (mother)
'Cause I'm not, having any luck finding

I lost my mother's car keys
Oh, my mother's car keys
I lost my mother's car keys,
And they're gone, gone, gone... oh, oh, oh

All I did was, go out for a little cruise
(For a little cruise)
I swear I had those keys; are they in my shoes?
(I swear I had those keys, those keys)
I think I lost, I lost, I lost them while driving today
(I lost them while driving today)
I tried, not to, let them slip away

I said Mother
Mother
Mother
Mother
(I lost your car keys) I lost your car keys
Will someone look (will someone look)
Will someone look?
Please bring 'em on back (Bring 'em on back)
Now bring 'em on back
Now bring 'em on back

Will someone... bring back my mother's car keys?
Oh, my mother's car keys
Bring back my mother's car keys,
'Cause they're gone, gone, gone...
And I've looked, for, them...

Bring back my mother's car keys
Oh, my mother's car keys
Bring back my mother's car keys, 'cause they're gone, gone, gone
Bring back my mother's car keys
Oh, my mother's car keys
Bring back my mother's car keys, 'cause they're gone, gone, gone
Bring back my mother's car keys
Oh, my mother's car keys
Bring back my mother's car keys, 'cause they're gone, gone, gone

I don't think I realized Hall and Oates did a version of this song. Very good song!

Great job lebeiw! THis is tied with Royce's song for the song of the day!

Hey Jeff, I may be in the minority here, but I think the Hall and Oates cover was much better than the Righteous Brothers' version... you should check it out sometime, I think it's really good!

Should've hot-wired it. ;-)

The Hall and Oates version is very good, but it does not have the "Wall of Sound" produced by Phil Spector. The Wall of Sound was copied by Brian Wilson for the Beach Boys Pet Sounds album
