Although D.IX was never more than in limited production from late 1944 through the surrender in 1945, the FSU reported that encounters between Red Army troops and Waffen SS loaded with D.IX were hard to kill. They took many bullets and should have been downed, but continued to fight. One Waffen SS soldier took an entire drum from a Russian PPSh-41 SMG and STILL (dead on his feet) mowed down Russian troops before collapsing. He never screamed nor flinched when he was being shot 35 times!!! By October 1945 D.IX was to be issued to all German Army and Waffen SS troops as well as midget sub crews. Scary...

And I thought the nastiest stuff they came up with was Schok-a-Kola, a blend of Chocolate and Coffee to keep the troops awake. Still sold on line and at specialty stores, but with warning not to give to elderly or children.

The Third Reich came up with many medical technologies and medicines. Most German soldiers were on amphetamines and methamphetamines during the war. The Germans invented synthetic blood and plasma, Product 3065, as well as methadone, MDMA, and other synthetic pain killers. The Nazis were also the first to make the connection between lung cancer with cigarettes and had NEGION generators installed in most city hospitals as well as certain German bombers!!! The SS experimented with resurrection technology and lab-created artificial life forms. Of course the Germans also promoted Euthanasia and human genetic engineering with the Lebensborn Program.
