The Lyrics

A parody of Bryan Adams' timeless song "The Summer of 69" as if Harry Potter was reminiscing about his first year at Hogwarts.
I got this scar on my forehead,
Just after my life begun,
Joined a school called Hogwarts,
Was September of 91.

Me and a kid called Ron,
Met a girl called Hermione,
Fought a troll and became a seeker,
The first time I’d ever been free.

Oh when I look back now
My first year seemed to last forever
And if I had the choice
Yeah, I'd always wanna be there
Those were the best days of my life

And then a few weeks later,
I find Dumbledore is gone,
Have to stop Snape, ‘cause he’s the traitor,
But it turned out I was wrong, yeah.

Standing on those flamin’ steps,
Quirrell turned and showed me Voldy’s face
Oh and then he touched my arm,
And I touched him again, just in case
That was the last day of his life

Back at the start of 1992

Man we were killin' time
We were young and restless
We needed to unwind
I guess nothin' can last forever, forever, no, yeah

And now the times do differ,
I never knew, how diff’rent it could be,
Sometimes when I look in the mirror
I see an eleven year old me.

I was there in the hospital bed,
I woke up to find I could fin’lly relax,
Oh then I saw the sweets,
Dumbledore ate one, “Alas, Earwax!”
Those were the best days of my life, oh yeah
Back at the start of 1992, uh huh,
Went back in September 92,
Oh yeah, me n my friends in 91,
It was September, September, September of 91.
