The Lyrics

I like that Hornsby fellow's music but this concert back in '96 was one of the more unusually disappointing ones i went to
Concert long ago
Disappointed us so
We thought he would really go
And play all the hit songs
He played lots of stuff
Listening to it was tough
Was unusually boring
Played ones we didn't know

He played all his real obscure songs
He played all of those for so long
Oh and it was just so wrong
We wanted to hear the hits
Played this song right near the end
As the last bus was leavin'
So we had to leave, and send
Regrets that we couldn't stay

Years later buses ran
Longer so could see the bands
Play their last song that night
Yeah that was much better
Back then it stunk
Had to go back if you find
You didn't park in or behind
One of garages nearby

He played all his real obscure songs
He brought out the kazoos and gongs
Audience applauded along
They had all his albums
He stumped radio station
They thought he would play all the hits
He would have almost none of it
Played rare songs he liked the most

Years later, Steve Winwood
Did the same thing in the scorching sun
Played few songs anyone knew
Right along the waterfront again
Not again

Pizza's steaming hot
Oh the art was best they got
In the whole area there
Some good other concerts
Was expecting a lot
From Hornsby but he was not
All that great
What are these songs I don't know

In a store I hear this song again
It reminds me of disappointment
And how the night just was a strain
Didn't play new singles either
We had waited so much time
Oh the concert was such a crime
Time to bring out the mimes
After that Hornsby fellow

Saves good stuff for last
My interest dwindled fast
Don't know these obscure songs, nah
The boats are sounding their horns
Oh the songs just came and went
Nothing most would have known
And dragged them on and on
Every song lasted 10 minutes

Needs to change his setlist
He has all obscure favorites
We just got tired of it
Didn't get to see the end
It might have improved somewhat
But i don't assume that much oh no
Jazz concerts were better that day
The bus riders said anyway

Go to the, go to the other stage

Listen to the complaints of some fans when they had to go
Listen to the complaints of some fans when they had to go

Listen to the other bands
