The Lyrics

When I find myself watching the tube
I watch the olympics
And I see the speedskating
Apollo's the king
More medals than Bonnie Blair

I get some food there in some other room
Knowing this is what
I might watch when I eat mushrooms
I am falling asleep
Cool watching ski jumpers leap, oh

Just as I almost pass out
I can hear them cheer for him
It's pulling me back
Back from my sleep

Ohno, caught up in the middle
The speedskating riddle
Oh how do you get ahead?
Ohno, raced up just a little
He's still in the middle
And he does speedskating in the night

He passes them, knows what he's doin' yeah
Gets another medal
And the critics all say nah
Much wind is then broken
Anthem's sung not spoken and oh

Just as I almost pass out
I can hear them cheer for him
It's pulling me back
Back from my sleep

Ohno, caught up in the middle
The speedskating riddle
Oh how do you get ahead?
Ohno, raced up just a little
He's still in the middle
And he does speedskating in the night
In the night

Much wind is then broken
Anthem's sung not spoken and oh

Just as I almost pass out
I can hear them cheer for him
It's pulling me back
Back from my sleep

Ohno, caught up in the middle
The speedskating riddle
Oh how do you get ahead?
Ohno, raced up just a little
He's still in the middle, he's there, he's there

Ohno, caught up in the middle
The speedskating riddle
Oh how do you get ahead?
Ohno, raced up just a little
He's still in the middle
And he does speedskating in the night
In the night

I just watch it, yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
I just watch it, yeah yeah
Just watch it, yeah yeah yeah yeah

Great show, Phil! One of my fave 80's OS'! At first I was about to get thrown off with "Ohno" when you forgot to split the words. Now I get it, as in Apolo Ohno! He's hot next to Olympic skater Evan Lysacek! Need to keep up with Olympics often. I only watch love to watch the speedskating event because that's my top fave! Speedskating in 555 meters for this one!

Thanks Ribber, Mark, and Christie.

DKTOS well enough to vote... I like the idea, but I *know* you can put more variation in the verses/choruses! :)

Thanks Fiddlegirl (I was in a hurry to get this in before the update this morning)

Agree with FG, and DKTOS either, but will vote Fives for revealing Apolo's secret -- that gas-propulsion technique! As he passes (gas), that "Much wind broken" whiffs him by the others -- who slow down as they struggle to breathe. Who knew? :-)

No wonder his name is "Ohno". "Oh, no, more wind-breaking coming!" ... New event: Olympic FarTTing. (I've been training for years for this moment!)

Thanks TT. Hilarious comment, that wasn't even my intent, just needed a line there and that line's kinda like the original (The silence is broken).
