Saw a movie there yesterday
They got new seats out in the lobby
New arcade games, ate raisinets
The movie was the best

Was built a while ago
That plaza, it's tough to know
Where you're going and you will get lost wasting time

I remember those days hanging out at the Village Green
Got my license, got some new clothes some nice black jeans
Saw a movie at the theater try parallel parking
Cold drinks, no lights, my sweet romantic teenage nights

Philly and Wendy were the regular attendees
And the employees were sick of us
Going around the whole theater there, field trips on school bus
Nobody looked any better
We ate pizza at the plaza next door over
Then we would wait outside in the extremely long line
Surely Philly and Wendy would always have really great times

Philly and Wendy were still going right there in the summer of 2002
When they decided the theater would be closed by the end of June
Everyone knew they were crazy
They could improve but much too lazy
There was a theater way down the street that was brand new
So there we were wavin' the movie theater adieu.

Company got bought out by another one
Now the theatre's an empty building
Oh, the other stores right in there stayed open but lost sales
People still got lost around there going
They started to close didn't sell pantyhose
But there's still a few left abiding

So then we moved on went to the new place
But this theatre's not as good as that was
It's still got nice stuff you can sit on your duff
In the stadium seating, speakers buzz
Then we left that whole scene back to Village Green
But we could never go in there again

Philly and Wendy watched movies too many in the summer of 2002
When the theater closed oh, and it was the last show
It made us kind of blue
We couldn't go back to the theaters
The best we could do is become big eaters
Donuts and pizza are part of a balanced diet
That's all there is about Philly and Wendy
