I thought it was a good parody (I thought the pacing was off in a few places). Also, I don' t think the author was necessarily trying to be funny. I do like the idea of following up the original song with an "updated version", if you will, and I would venture to say that if Billy Joel had written the song today, he'd probably touch on these topics outlined in this parody.

Mads....? It's the 2006 We Didn't Start The Fire... wouldn't you expect the chorus to be the same? Either way, I hardly knew any of the people mentioned in this, still, I commend the effort put into this.

To All, It's now 2009. Every single name or event I used in 2006 was IN THE NEWS at the time I wrote it. Maybe you kids should spend less time on sites like this and more time keeping up with the times. The comments reflect your ignorance, not mine. Lastly, it's not supposed to be funny, just like the original song WAS NOT FUNNY. The original popular video was a social commentary as seen through the lives and changes of the typical American family.
