Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Network +, BEA, Lotus Notes, CCNA
Microsoft, Oracle and on and on I go

MCT, MCSD, CCQE, CCSE
MCSE, CCIE, have all the Cisco

Certified Java God, Bill likes my Windows Mod
System could really die, back up in a blink of an eye

System back-up, boots clean, my downtime is un-seen
One lone virus sneaks in, boss is saying fix it

CHORUS
We're Sysad's for hire
The system got a virus so their gonna fire us
We're Sysad's for hire
Norton didn't catch it, so our boss did get it

User wants their background mauve, screen saver shut it off
I can't get the crew together, systems in shock

No one knows what went wrong, our network is really gone
Get in, boss calls, you're working off the clock

You'd have better get it clean, tell me when the networks green
You say that you're certified, tell me why the system died

Sybase, it's a mess, is the system working yet
Take a look at my face, if I cant fix it who will

CHORUS

Sat-Com, Ethernet, I aint solved the problem yet
rshell, run whoami, the system is about to die

Screaming heard down the hall, server rack about to fall
Peter Norton's on the line, says your system will be fine

Boss's calling, from home, does he need to come in
Managers don't know, that we really run the show

Who knew, could it be, a simple fix we didn't see
Inside hacker, oh-no, he's the one who's gotta go

CHORUS

Now which way, do we plan, to catch the guilty man
Will we alert him, sticky situation

Boss's calling on the phone, wont leave us alone
We missed a log in, another chance gone again

Ran all system checks, is this code written in hex
Console Sessions blown away, why'd I come to work today

CHORUS

Hard drive full, is it him, inside hackers back again
One shot to block open port who's the rock
Unix systems running fine, started snooping on the line
Boss hired a new man, brought him in to catch this man

Certified, we think he lied, told us all to step aside
making bets, who he nets, find him our job he gets
Sweat is dripping on the floors, will he really find a flaw
What's he doing making cores, I need to get out the door

We're Sysad's for hire
The system got a virus so their gonna fire us
We're Sysad's for hire
But when we are gone you will not logon and on and on...

CHORUS

Some great lines, and I can see the work you put into this. It's ridiculously hard and you nailed the pacing in many places, but there are still a number of minor pacing gripes that I have. Given the circumstances, I'd prefer to give you a 4.5 for pacing, but I can't, so I'll round up. 'You say that you’re certified, tell me why the system died' is definitely my favorite line.
