The Lyrics

An Amateur Radio Morse Code Examination
On the first part of the code test,
I was looking at all the VEC's
There were geeks and nerds and jocks and things,
They had coke and onion rings.

The first thing I met was a VEC with a buzz,
and a guy with earphones.
The phones were hot, and the sound was fried,
But I could barely hear the sound.

I've been through the session of some Morse with no brain,
It felt good to be done with the game.
In the session, you can remember your pain,
Cause there ain't no one for to turn up the gain.
La, la, la, lalala la ...

After two days of the Element 1,
My ears began to turn red.
After three days of irrelevant fun,
I was hearing the Grateful Dead,
And the tape was so old it was covered with mold,
made me glad to think it would shred.

You see,
I've been through the session of some Morse with no brain,
It felt good to be done with the game.
In the session, you can remember your pain,
Cause there ain't no one for to turn up the gain.
La, la, la , lalala la ...

After nine days, I passed the Element 3
And a license was mailed to me.
There were geeks and nerds and jocks and things,
They had coke and onion rings.

The session's like a septic with its tank underground,
and a perfect commode above.
Under the shanties lies a code beeping sound
But technicians will give no love.

You see,
I've been through the session of some Morse with no brain,
It felt good to be done with the game.
In the session, you can remember your pain,
Cause there ain't no one for to turn up the gain.
La, la, la , lalala la ...

This should be 70s not 80s. Why? Because the song was released in 1972... tisk tisk

I thought it quite funny. I can relate to it because I have done the amateur radio morse code exam (in Australia 1978)
