The Lyrics

Still in the Christmas vibe (hoping to get enough of them together eventually to make it worth recording some of them) I thought I'd tackle this one. And after a search on the Amiright site, I was STUNNED to discover I'll only be the second person EVER to have parodied this OS! Which means this is either a very good or very bad choice on my part... I guess time will tell. :^)

And here's a link to the original song.

There’s somebody downstairs
I’m scared that it might be a crook
My presents might get swiped, I’d better take a look

I’m being really quiet
I see somebody dressed in red
He’s tripped over the cat, and landed on his head

Whoa it’s Santa Claus!
I think he might have hurt his nose
And I would get told off if I used words like those

Heard a burp from his mouth
That was a surprise
Why can’t he focus clearly with his eyes?

I’d best go back upstairs
Or I won’t see his ass for dust
Though he can’t seem to walk, I hope he’s not concussed

Sherry’s gone from the glass I left out for fun
Looks a lot like I was not the only one

He’s crawling up the stairs
I’m starting now to fear the worst
Hope if he breaks his neck he leaves my presents first

He might fall on the stairs
Please don’t fall on the stairs…

Not much empathy for poor St Nick...humorous scenario

Inspired choice of OS - that guileless soprano is a perfect vehicle for this slightly darker theme. I wanted to know what happened next ... funny

Wendy - your link won't work for me, but I know I ahve the OS on a disc somewhere; I'll be back when I find it. :)

@ Meriadoc - on my YT window the version is restricted, but if you click on the link to 'The Snowman' on the right, you will get it. I'm pretty sure it's the same one. There's also a fine version out there by Chloe Agnew of 'Celtic Woman'. Keying in either artist will get you there.

Thanks for all the comments, everyone!

@Meriadoc: There's also another version done by Declan Galbraith at

... which may work if the other one doesn't. A bit different from the usual choirboy-type rendition, but the kid's got an incredible voice, considering he was just nine years old when he did it.
