| Parody Song Title: | "Goody You Lose" |
| Parody Written by: | Phil Alexander |
With election coming
Is it such a surprise
That the one who gets elected 'lected
Is the one who tells the most lies most lies
If untrue words spoken
Could gain you a vote
Democracy gets broken, broken
Politics is remote remote
Goody You, Goody You, Goody Goody You Lose
Goody You, Goody You, Goody Goody You Lose
Don't think don't vote - what's at issue here?
Don't think don't vote - what's at issue here?
Lowest ever turnout follows
Must have something new tried
Trusting politicians?
That'd be a joke
You know we don't believe them, leave them
That every one's a good bloke good bloke
Wanting information
Full chapter and verse
Do we trust the papers papers
No, because they're much worse much worse
Goody You, Goody You Goody Goody You Lose
Goody You, Goody You Goody Goody You Lose
Don't think don't vote - what's at issue here?
Don't think don't vote - what's at issue here?
Lowest ever turnout follows
Must have something new tried
No one's gonna tell me
What's wrong or what's right
Or tell me who to vote for vote for
They're all so very uptight uptight
Look out or they'll tell you
Just how good they are
Two weeks and they're an MP MP
I think the games have gone much too far
If untrue words spoken
Could gain you a vote
Democracy gets broken, broken
Politics is remote remote

You took one of my fave '80s songs, and did a real nice job pacing it. I think it works great.
Thank you, David - must admit, I could never understand the low votes this one got, especially on pacing: I've sung it through enough times.
