"Fryer"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

chicken wants to leave
i want her filleted
nothing she can do
i've determined to slay
she protests anyway
but i shall have my say
wielding my tool

i've taken her life
bird should now fall
whacked off her head
but still around she crawls
eerie sight that i view
i wish that she'd just get through
and quietly lay

i whacked off her head
i whacked off her head
i whacked off her head

fryer...fryer...fryer

dance with all her might
lord, she flails away
i may start heaving
if she don't plop and stay
i'm getting creeped, you see
she just won't stop weaving
how long can this go ?

i wish she'd drop dead
i wish she'd drop dead
i wish she'd drop dead

fryer...fryer...fryer
fryer...fryer
fryer...fryer...fryer

i slayed with a knife
but she still strolled
it fills me with dread
like she's remote controlled
no head should be a clue
she just won't take a cue
she just runs away

trots back to the shed
trots back to the shed
trots back to the shed

fryer...fryer...fryer
fryer...fryer...fryer

Alvin - this ran like a head with its chicken cut off. The "old country" people where I grew up raised chickens for food. I was always fasinated to see them fully animated with their pea brain seperated from their body. Actually they just cut the neck and let them bleed out but they still jumped around a lot. And yes it is Bates like in a disturbing kind of way - as if Norman was never disturbed. My wife's sister lived on a small farmstead in souther Minnesota. They raised chickens and slaughtered them to sell to their friends and neighbors. I was visiting there once when they harvested the brood. They actually had wooden boxes that were open on both ends nailed about six feet up on the rafters of the basement. The boxes were wider at the top than the bottom. The fowl were place upside down in the boxes. It was my neice's job to cut the throats. Then a water hose was used to usher all the drippings toward the center of the basement where there was a drain. The odd sized boxes kept them fairly still while they expired. It was a family enterprise and I was recruited to help out that one time. I was all good until I went with my brother in law to the rendering plant where they disposed of the feathers and non eatable innards. That was the worse smelling place my nose was ever exposed to. That was really the only bad part of the whole deal. Heck - I coud do it again - I'm not chicken.

Sir Alvin, this is great, and the line about the chicken being remote-controlled was indeed a dream scream!

Nice, very funny, alvin. I too remember when my older relatives cut the chicken's head off...went running around the whole farm. Thank goodness I was never recruited to help out. 5's

This may be why the chicken crossed the road, to get away from your axe, This is meaty and it's good.

A century or two ago, chopping off a chicken's head before cooking it was a commonplace event. Today most of us don't know what our dinnners really consist of. Thanks for linking our dinner table to the farm in a humorous way, Alvin.

thanks john....many folks would be vegans if they had to kill their own dinner
