Parody Song Title:

"Loy Was His Girl"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

william powell...he played a gumshoe
was a real fave of mine
he had me laughin' good at funny words he said
cause he had some witty lines...yeah
he always had some outasight lines
swingin'...

loy was his girl
all enjoyed this pearl
loy was so pretty...a delight to see
loy and william p.

if there was a killin', i'm sure..
he'd know what to do
he'd hang around in bars, smoke cigars, but thus far..
he still finds the clues
swingin' now...

loy was his girl
all enjoyed this pearl
loy was so pretty...a delight to see
loy and william p.

you know he loves his lady
banter's just for fun
he's a real live wire...she's a real spit fire
she ain't 'fraid of shootin' a gun
i said, she ain't 'fraid of shootin' a gun

loy was his girl
all enjoyed this pearl
loy was so pretty...a delight to see
loy and william p.

loy...was his girl
all...enjoyed this pearl
loy...was his girl
loy...and william p.

loy was his girl
all enjoyed this pearl
loy was so pretty...a delight to see
loy and william p.

Great job. I just watched "Libeled Lady," which I'd never seen before. Loy and Powell were a superb team.

Enjoyed this old film duo salute...And, a bit of trivia, which you may already know...but Don Adams has always said that he based his Maxwell Smart characterization on William Powell....fives

Something is happening here, and you know what it is, don't you, Mr. Rhodes? (For those who don't recognize it, that's a takeoff on Bob Dylan's "Ballad of a Thin Man," which is not based on the Hammett-Powell/Loy stories.) A spectacluar idea. If only there was a song based on the novel "The House of the Seven Gables." You could've done one on Clark Gable and Carole Lombard.
